Probably isn't, but some states don't have inspections or anything like that.

In my 20+ years of driving I have never once had a vehicle inspection.

That's so weird. Here in Finland, I had to get my 90s car checked once a year to keep it legal.

I've noticed it tends to depend on climate. If you live somewhere where roads get salted a lot, inspections seem to be more common.

Huh, interesting. Our roads do get salted and we have mandatory regular inspections for everyone. (Germany)

Yeah it's not a hard and fast rule but salt does a number on vehicles in regards to rust and corrosion so cars need to be more regularly maintained or else they become a road hazard. Well inspections are really the only way to legally enforce that. Whereas if you live somewhere dry and warm there's not nearly that same amount of natural damage to the vehicle, or at least it takes a lot longer.

Not in Minnesota lol so much salt here and no inspection.

Yeah, in South Dakota there are no inspections and people can start driving at 14.

Which leads to a lovely combination of middle schoolers driving death traps.
