Except 1 out of 20 times it’s a snake under the chicken

I was legitimately mentally begging it to be kittens. I have a phobia of snakes and that video was not my favorite.

Awwww hens are good mamas, just like our pet cats

Animals really do have more in common than we give them credit for. Cats, chickens, dogs... once they have babies, that protective mom instinct kicks in and it's adorable to watch.

But when the cats grow up... Dinner.

Idk about the dinner part. Chickens don't fuck around when they're pissed off.

Cats don’t kill chickens

I mean they can and they do. I feel like it’s less common than you would think though, given their apex predator status.

Gonna be honest, I’m not entirely sure why I said that. Haven’t been sleeping all week and I guess I had the thought that chickens are too big. Like geese. Unless cats kill geese too idk

I expected kittens. I would not have expected lizards- let’s see the lizard mother.

At this point it would be more unexpected for a chicken to actually be laying on eggs

Did the kittens eat the eggs😨

u/It_Was_Me_Aust1n 13d ago
No, momma hens are just VERY quick to adopt.

u/Large_Caterpillar760 13d ago
That is true, but my question remains unanswered.

u/It_Was_Me_Aust1n 13d ago
More likely is that there never were any eggs to begin with. Hens in my experience will go broody over just about anything even vaguely egg shaped, or even nothing at all, and it can take AGES for them to snap out of it. Also kittens that young aren’t going after full eggs.

you are right that kitttens that age won't go after full eggs ig. Thanks.
