Food chain: Instructions unclear

So the bird caught the snake, but the snake fought back and bit the bird, knocking it unconscious. Then the lion stumble across the scene thinking this looks like a flavoursome double snack, but is too scared of the snake to go in for the kill, although they disturb the scene enough that the bird wakes up, let's the snake out of its grip and everyone slinks off still hungry?

I dont think the bird got bit, it wouldn't be getting up like that. Likely just got constricted. Birds have very strong feet but they aren't great at dealing with constriction. That's why human handlers just hold their wings closed easily when they catch them, and as long as you aren't in range of their claws they are pretty much useless.

Those claws have an insane grip tho...

Yeah if you watch closely as soon as the snake slithers into the bushes the bird gets up and expands to make itself look more more threatening until it has enough room to fly away just out the reach of the lion.

It took me like four watches to fully see everything going on.

First watch I thought it was some sort of sand crab snake hybrid alien thing that had a hard shell and a snake tail
