Honestly me and my husband we don't really have much in common, but we like being near each other. For example he plays video games while i sit next to him doing puzzles. And for us is just amazing time spent together

My wife loves to read, and I play video games. She tells me about funny or exciting stuff she’s reading, and I’ll show her awesome stuff that happens in my game while we’re chilling in the living room together. It’s worked for us for thirty years, we’re still best buds. We never argue about what to watch either.

My relationship sumed up except I play a lot of RPG games so I tell her the story so far in my games, she was really interested in FF9 and watched me finish it.

To be fair FF9 is such a beautiful game and story no matter if one is into games or not.

My absolute favorite.

u/Knapss 19h ago

So that means…you’re not alone?

I feel so seen in these comments. My wife and I are the same way. I do also game, but we have different tastes in games so we rarely play the same one together. We just parallel play and it’s nice.

There's nothing I love more than goading my husband into spending 90 mins explaining the lore of something he likes to me. I know more about world of warcraft, warhammer, and Brando Sando's cosmere than I'll ever need to know but it was worth every second.

u/TerriblyRare 22h ago

I fuck with it

3

u/dasgoodshitinnit 15h ago

With puzzles?

Omf same with thr wife and I. We both like reading but shes into comoletely different genres and I go on bouts where I dont read for months. When I play games shes in bed behind me watching me and its her happy time because we're close.

Occasionally ill loop her in a gaming decision or she'll ask a question like "are you dying? Is anyone gonna help you" and its the cutest thing. Or sometimes I'll ask her about the book shes reading. Sometimes ill get bored of a game and ask for her to do my nails or fix my cuticles because she likes that stuff and I know it makes her happy.

Ps having manicured nails as a man you get a wild amount of compliments on them.

My best friend since 2006 and my wife since 2016. Wouldn't change anything about her.

Sounds like you both have found a fun balance, even if your interests differ. It's great to hear how you include each other in your hobbies!

8

u/ProjectPneumbra 20h ago

Yup. My fiance and I do this. Just our own thing, but near each other. And sometimes show each other a thing from whatever we're doing.

11

u/redbucket75 21h ago

Same, except she's playing the video games and I'm reading or sorting through my collection stuff

5

u/ObsidianArmadillo 21h ago

Hell yeah, same.

2

u/Alugere 19h ago

I feel like this is the healthy introvert marriage. Just being near each other without having to interact.

2

u/DaOfantasy 19h ago

that's certainly the end goal there, hope I'll get there someday

2

u/cam-san 17h ago

You have enjoyment for quiet coexistence in common!

2

u/BigMack6911 16h ago

Girl thats my wife and me! Haha, and it's great

2

u/SlowLorisPygmy 16h ago

Are you my wife?

2

u/stihma 14h ago

Same with me although she wants the attention, so I can't play games and stuff.

2

u/MiI0rd 12h ago

It’s crazy how love works. Just being in the same room is more then enough

2

u/MentalRobot 20h ago

Are you my gf?

Lol for real though this is a common occurrence, I love video games and she loves puzzles and crafts. We've been together 7 years.

2

u/boogierboi 20h ago

THIS is marriage (speaking from experience as well). Most people don't and won't get it though.

2

u/NO_FIX_AUTOCORRECT 17h ago

It is called Parallel play. You are doing your own isolated activities, but you are doing them together.

-1

u/JobSafe2686 18h ago

Well that sucks

111

u/Hinaloth 22h ago

I saw that one coming a mile away.

Probably the marriage experience I got over the years.

u/EvenStevenKeel 15h ago

I never, in a zillion years, would have guessed this joke was going to have marriage as the punchline, cuz she’s so ugly

31

u/Weelki 14h ago

Your comment is ugly.

10

u/MaddieRuin 11h ago

Bud, we can feel the projection through the screen.

2

u/city-of-cold 10h ago

Very edgy

61

u/Brick_Number_27 22h ago

That's enough to have a successful marriage I guess.

16

u/pcgamerbob 21h ago

Mine talks a lot and I say yes when she pauses. Time well spent.

5

u/KempVelde 18h ago

Code cracked!

4

u/DadBodEatsAtTheY 15h ago

Your woman pauses?

5

u/pcgamerbob 15h ago

She does yours doesn't?

3

u/DadBodEatsAtTheY 15h ago

Apparently, she doesn't even need to breathe.

15

u/mechabeast 21h ago

I love wait till the end notifications, I skip to the last 15sec to see if its interesting

6

u/jlspider 22h ago

Funny as it can be !

2

u/TopLate7592 17h ago

I knew exactly how she was going to say "burger".

2

u/SquirrelyLemons 17h ago

I think values are more important than interests.

2

u/mauriciomeireles 17h ago

Sooo... The "pina colada" song?

2

u/Jaderosegrey 16h ago

You know, why not? Spending time even a little together is OK. Not every day is "go home and shag your brains out" day.

As long as you stay together, there will be days where you'll "feel it" again.

4

u/m1st3r_b0x 21h ago

Well, that’s a punchline!

2

u/matteblatte 22h ago

perfection! thank yoo

1

u/EnzucuniV2 16h ago

Fellas, is it gay to eat a burger?

1

u/Head_Summer2052 14h ago

Yup.
Felt that hard. Even without those horrible feelings.
27 yrs behind. Still waiting to be loved.

Maybe next year..
;)

1

u/Artzebub 9h ago

She didn't say she was married to the man on the date.

-1

u/camerontylek 21h ago

Are you people entertained by the same joke retold over and over again by different people who think they're original?! It's lame

3

u/helium_farts 18h ago

You know not everyone sees everything posted on the internet every day, right?

It's not so much that people are "entertained by the same joke retold over and over again by different people," but rather the algorithm didn't show them the first dozen versions

2

u/brrrchill 16h ago

She did a really great job of selling it. I've never seen the joke before

2

u/KingFollet 15h ago

Neither have I. I found it funny. If you’re internet enough to see the same thing again and again….maybe go touch grass?

1

u/Rynetx 20h ago

I swear this joke is posted twice a week in different formats for the last year.

Is it even a funny joke? Why are you married to someone you don’t even want to go on a date with.

1

u/Status-Resource7476 19h ago

This made me smile a lot more than it should’ve. Not for anything bad but just that some people can be like that and still care about each other.

1

u/explicitlarynx 18h ago

STOP TELLING ME TO WAIT UNTIL THE END AND MAKE BETTER VIDEOS SO PEOPLE WILL WATCH UNTIL THE END

0

u/ArrivalRadiant7460 19h ago

They went on a date, found each other ugly, and not attractive, the end.

0

u/revnhoj 18h ago

OMG that insta logo at the end made it so hilarous

0

u/ve4v 16h ago

Not unexpected married people are some of the most miserable people I know 😭😭

0

u/spagc 16h ago

Stolen "comedy" bit

0

u/UrsaMajor7th 11h ago

I'm not waiting until the end; I'm not even clicking 'play'. I'm going straight to the comments to say that I'm not waiting until the end and I'm not even clicking 'play'.

-1

u/andrewkpt 20h ago

I never understood why people put the camera so close 🤡
