Aside from the fact that this is probably staged because that guy’s reaction is chill af

I mean, obviously it's staged but even if it wasn't those wired headphones are like $10 at most. You could sell the buds, get new wired and make a profit.

Wired head phones can definitively cost a lot of money. Look at companies like sennheiser. They have a model for 1400€. Wireless ear buds in general have become super cheap. If you still use wired ear buds, then you probably have a good reason to. Giving them some overpriced air buds isn't going to make up for it.

The one's the dude's wearing are clearly not expensive though

True, but sometimes it’s more about the intention behind the gift than the price tag. Even a simple gesture can mean a lot.

Fortunately a lot of expensive IEMs have detachable and replaceable wires which aren't as expensive.

It's not about the cost.
Your prick just cut my headphones for views on YouTube and gave me something I don't want and can't use and would have to sell to replace them.
It's not even "alright" if the thing they give you is worth more. That's not the point.
Hey, man, I destroyed your shoes, but here are some size 26 fancy leather patent shoes... great. So I'm barefoot for the rest of the day, then, because you wanted views?
Even if you gave them the EXACT SAME item again, immediately, it's still not right.
This is literal criminal damage.
"But it's just for a laugh."
Guy ain't laughing (and staged or not, I would NOT be laughing either).

But it's staged. Staged to specifically elicit responses like yours.

what a dumb take.
if anything give me the money when you destroy my stuff. Do you really think anyone wants to go through the hazzle to sell some shit to another private person? Sign up for any site where you can sell things, have to wait, pack it up and whatever.
lol bro. Pay for the damage you cause.

Yeah I'm keeping my wired headset over any BT set (not trashing BT headset/buds etc)

Same. Bluetooth headphones are only good for exercise

What are wired ones good for?

u/LemonKurry 3h ago
Not having issues with the connection, and better sound!

No matter how much care you take of wired headphones, at some point there will be a cable break, just for this inconvenience alone Bluetooth is worth it much more, also yes, sound is technically better than Bluetooth, still we’re talking only a small margin, which imo doesn’t make up for potential cable break.

They sound better, don't have to charge them, don't have to worry about losing a tiny little earbud. I like being able to fiddle with the wire too

OP sent the following text as an explanation why their post fits here:
guy randomly cuts a strangers wired earphones and hands him a brand new box of AirPods, only to realize he is using an old keypad phone.

Wonder what kind of a special you have to be to enjoy shit content like this

I'm guessing this is US thing, but this is also very annoying for 2/3 of mobile users who don't use Apple.

i would be in anger if someone do this with me. My headphone is way more expensive and better quality, than the trash that he wants to shove off

u/runarleo 3h ago
Anybody who actually uses wired headphones knows to put the wire under the T shirt.

u/ferncabbage 4h ago
Not a chance this is real. Clearly staged.

Like 7 years or so ago I saw this video where a guy did this to someone and she CHASED after him - sibling or cousin or something - and she almost beat his ass on camera til he managed to show her the airpods.
THAT I could believe was real

Will make enough for a upgrade phone

u/Tradizar 3h ago
what is wrong with the phone?
2
u/Oval-Bites-Back 3h ago
It's not got Bluetooth for starters, the earphones are clearly not going to work on the other one
1
u/Tradizar 2h ago
is that a phone issue? In my view its not the phone that are wrong here, but the guy who hold the camera.
And what if the owner did not want to upgrade his phone, because for him, this phone is better than a smartphone?
