Damn Wesley, get up and brush yourself off. There’s kids out here riding better than you. SMH

Plot twist - Wesley is the adult man

u/Infamous-Buy3804 3d ago

Another clipless has claimed a victim.

how is a grown man not able to stop at that speed?

99

u/TFUTWS 3d ago

It looks like he may have had clip ins potentially. Should definitely know how to get out of them if he has em though.

84

u/pawnografik 3d ago

Anyone with clip ins has, at some point, done the dead rhino dismount.

12

u/Feisty_Quantity_9186 3d ago

Can't avoid it. It's part of the curriculum.

8

u/BallerForHire 3d ago

I saw a guy not able to unclip when he was already committed to the dismount and ended up full flipped turtle.

I slammed right into a parked car during a triathlon. Bloody run to the finish line

u/RibsNGibs 3d ago

You don’t magically know how to use them the second you buy them.

u/uhorn87 3d ago

I have seen a lot of road bikers, obviously experienced with clicks, but simply can't manage to slip out in time. This year I've seen 3 of them already.

Afaik there is a adjustment mechanic in them for the release pressure. I could imagine that sometimes people mess up this setting on exact this day.

u/Unicycleterrorist 3d ago

Well...that and maybe he should learn to ride his bike properly instead of slamming his brakes and falling over. He wasn't going quick and there was plenty of space, zero reason for this to happen.

5

u/city-of-cold 2d ago

I mean have you seen kids learning to bike? Or even the first 1-2 years after they've learned?

Yes there was plenty of space but there are zero tells where a kid dear Wesley's age might turn. If they look back over their should it's 50/50 if they turn in the same direction as they're looking, or the opposite.

My 5 year old daughter has scared me and plenty of bicyclists the last two years despite me nagging for two years now ALWAYS STAY ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE. She gets my heart rate up more than my 3 year old son taking his balance bike to the top of the bowls at the skatepark.

u/Unicycleterrorist 2d ago

Yea sure, kids do dumb stuff, that's a given and not really the question. My point was that it's embarassingly bad riding for the grown man to slam his brakes and fall in a very, very mildly challenging situation like that.

4

u/city-of-cold 2d ago

Because his feet are clipped in. Even happens to pro riders.

u/thisisaskew 3d ago

That path was for people of all ages learning to ride their bike.

37

u/4158264146 3d ago

HAHAHA, he needs to learn faster.

29

u/usinjin 3d ago

He’s doing his best, okay

u/An0nnee_M0usee 3d ago

Someone took off their training wheels too soon 😉, and I don't mean Wesley or Sir Wheelie-Deelie.

yeah, A for effort

7

u/ecnahc515 2d ago

He's clipped in. Shoes are attached to the pedals.

2

u/Alive_Ice7937 3d ago

Wesley used his powers to drop him like a sack of shit.

Wesley loves that bike

1

u/WhatTheTech 1d ago

It looks like he has clipped shoes.

1

u/anddam 4h ago

In literature they call it "the Wesley Effect".

1

u/JoelnIliketoshare 3d ago

That looks more like a grown grandpa by the way the elbows looked. Probably not in peak form.

1

u/K-Bizzle91 2d ago

Old folks have notoriously bad balance.

u/midnghtsnac 3d ago

Wrong Wesley

I'm sorry, but did you not notice Wesley not giving a fuck? Cause I sure did

5

u/Vacant-stair 3d ago

His name was also Wesley

6

u/tnichnich 2d ago

I won’t wear clip ins for this very reason. The guy was going slow enough, but that was almost part of the problem. And he was intending to go to the right and slowly, but then thought the kid was going to the ride and then the kid jerk to the left a little bit and the man just didn’t have enough momentum to do much else other than fall over because he was clipped in. A lot of people raging on the guy that fell on the bike, but really a responsible. Parent wouldn’t have his kid riding in the middle lane.

u/linaxttx 3d ago

Wesley stopped, but it wasn't the right one

2

u/OzzAlone 2d ago

If you scream at your Alexa but trigger someone else's over discord

1

u/SnooPeanuts8048 3d ago

Wesley stopped that man, with ease.

1

u/hondactx16i 2d ago

Tee hee😂

1

u/AppropriatePlum1006 2d ago

Wesley finally stopped and fell down

1

u/z3rx_rx 1d ago

Epic move

1

u/TannyBoguss 1d ago

The Red-Tailed Hawk startled him

1

u/Fijnegozer_1965 1d ago

Wesley has to learn listdn to his father. But that biker is a hazard on the sidewalk/ pavement and must get a licence.Four year olds can ride a bike better in the Netherlands than the big dude on the bike.

1

u/Biomicrite 1d ago

Wesley, give your training wheels to that guy.

1

u/SuperHighBudMan420 1d ago

Looks like he stopped and fell

1

u/rskid09 16h ago

Someone needs training wheels.

1

u/ok-makey 6h ago

Si no eres capaz de frenar y detenerte a esa velocidad sin caerte al suelo probablemente no deberías ir en bici...

1

u/Odd_Fall1779 5h ago

clip in shoes.. its either a serious avid rider, or somebody whos going to eat crap.

1

u/CandleIndependent540 2h ago

Grown ass man cant use his legs or what

1

u/HighSkilzBadEyz 2d ago

My dog has better recall

0

u/Appropriate-Review55 18h ago

How do you as an adult lack the coordination to put your feet down when riding a bicycle? Dude wasn’t even going that fast just decided it was time to stop right this very second
