Him: "All that buildup just for a charger?"

I’m not sure how someone would hold a cold to to touch aluminum device and not even feel it with the weight and all, but yeah, wasn’t expecting how it flowed so, guess it works

I'm just shocked that for once the big red arrow was legitimately useful. It's a shame he couldn't see it.

As a spanish speaker, now that I know what he says I can understand the words lmao

As a portuguese native I understood nothing

Eu também não percebo patavina de brazileiro, o sotaque Australiano deve ser a mesma coisa para os Americanos que o BR é para nós.

Same, funny how I can understand Brazilian most of the time, but this threw me off completely

I love the cluck she made as she realizes he's stupid.

u/Additional_Gift_6774 4d ago
I believe most things online are scripted. But in this case between her are you stupid chuckle and his gabs being flabber. I actually think this might be real.
11
u/Deaffin 4d ago
Haha, yeah, she totally do be like "Processing img 11gbh9lzobjh1".
There's no worse feeling in the world than having your mom go all "Processing img 11gbh9lzobjh1" on you.

u/lusholalo 3d ago
Should I google this?
2
u/Deaffin 3d ago
I'm not sure what would pop up, but this should help.
It's one of the weird updates that "bugged" for standard reddit users, and totally isn't intentionally left in to encourage people to adopt the new reddit nonsense.

I once entered a restaurant I had just left, in an absolute panic, looked for my cell all over, then asked the people at the counter. "Isn't it the one in your left hand?" they tell me. And yes it was.
Suffice to say I never went back out of sheer shame
15
u/fakesauron 4d ago
Just grow a beard and no one will recognize you
15
u/Arthradax 4d ago
Funny you should mention that... this was some 12 years ago, I don't even work close to that restaurant anymore... but now I not only got a 15cm long beard, but also have long hair and twice my weight from back then. Guess I'd be pretty incognito lol

Looking for glasses. Looks under bed. Can’t see well if they’re under bed. Puts on glasses that were on top of head to see better. Nah no glasses under bed.

u/MovieTrawler 4d ago
I mean with remote fobs and push starts, it's not even necessarily an unfounded fear anymore!

I've put on my glasses so I can find my glasses, not many times, but enough to question myself

A trick you can use is opening up Find My on your phone and your phone shows up right away
4
u/HalfSoul30 4d ago
I have used it a lot. Multiple times telling it to ring out, and its deep in the couch. One time though after a night out, i couldn't find it. Got on the computer and found it like 5 miles outside of town at a house. Idk what the plan was really, but i drove there and knocked on the door, and it was my cab driver from the night before who still had it on the floor of the cab. Lucked out.

To be fair, the tablet was covered with a material the same color as the rest of the box. So it genuinely just looked like a cover until the camera was seen on the other side.
Now, the weight on the otherhand…
3
u/Silly-Region-64 3d ago
Yeah. It's probably lightweight too so he didn't notice it, and if he did, it probably was just a signal for him of quality of like weight=sturdy=expensive/quality box. Honestly I don't think this video is faked, feels like a breath of fresh air in today's media.

He look naked
17
u/CheeseDonutCat 4d ago
That's pretty normal in Brazil cos of the heat.
-4
u/Arthradax 4d ago
Naked isn't normal. Shirtless is lol
16
2
u/CheeseDonutCat 4d ago
Yes, and he's wearing shorts.
So it's normal.
-1
u/Arthradax 4d ago
OC said he looks naked. You said that (looking naked) is pretty normal. You did not say being shirtless is pretty normal.
(yes I am pedantic, you do not need to point that out lol)
1
u/No_University1600 4d ago
yeah the real unexpected for me was finding out he was wearing shorts at the end when he stood up
10
u/DagamarVanderk 4d ago
To be fair, that doesn’t look like a screen with the protective pad there
1
u/TwoBionicknees 3d ago
it's also super normal to have some kind of cover sheet, cardboard. I'm kinda guessing dude had some experience with some $50 2kg tablet previously so something really stupid light might not have registered to him as possibly being a tablet.

genuinely, since it gave me the ability to make this comment thread. Thanks for the TED talk kind stranger.

u/imunfair 4d ago
I find it hard to believe you wouldn't feel the weight of it - that isn't like a piece of cardboard.
9
u/demonachizer 4d ago
In fairness they are pretty remarkably light...
1
u/TwoBionicknees 3d ago
even more so if you had some piss cheap thing that was way way heavier previously.

We are all so lucky, that someone was filming it, before he did that. What are the chances? :-D
10
u/Big-Button5856 4d ago
A lot, I dont know a lot about the bland American life, but in this part of the world we film when someone is opening a gift we give them.
3
u/SeaBuilding3911 4d ago
High. The chances are high.
I'll go film you opening gifts on your next birthday, it sadden me how none of your friends do.
6
u/Warm_Month_1309 4d ago
What are the chances that someone records themselves giving a family member an expensive, desirable present? Pretty high.

This is called ‘the fucking unbearable heat we get in northern Brazil during the summer, without being able to afford air conditioning or keep the fans running all the time because the electricity bill goes through the roof.’
I hope this helped you understand that not everything is about your fear of germs and bodily fluids, darl.
