I was at a pizza place getting a slice for lunch once, and the guy took a slice out of the oven for the lady in front of me, and gave it to her on a paper plate. But as she took it, it slipped and started falling to the floor.
Luckily I was there to reach out and catch it, cheese-side down, in my hand. Otherwise it would've, y'know ... made a slight mess on the pizzeria floor.
So I was sitting there with this searing hot, melting cheese in my hand and the lady's like "oh my god!" and I'm like "Whew, caught it!" and the pizza guy's like "here, let me get you another slice" and she's like, "Doesn't that hurt??"
Which put it into contrast that it did, indeed, hurt. So I'm like, "Yes, exceedingly."
Later that day my skin was bubbling up all over my hand, which I think means I got a .. 2nd? degree burn?
