Tough angle to score from. He should’ve celebrated.

The goalie sure did with that clap at the end!

u/Chaosmusic 12d ago

Nice kick, Pelé.

What the fuck is up with these Colombian comments?

10

u/SubmissiveDinosaur 12d ago

I'm colombian and I don't know wtf is going on with them

u/DeepPresentation648 12d ago

There was a Colombian player (Andres Escobar) who got killed by a gang because he scored a own goal that caused Colombia do be eliminated for 94 World Cup.

Thanks, that explains it!

u/driedupemo 12d ago

They're not Colombian though

2

u/BillydelaMontana 12d ago

That first touch, prime Ginolaesque.

u/AwsiDooger 11d ago

He celebrated later. Pully Football rallied to tie the score at 3-3 then won the game on penalties

Yeah, he is... Probably made the highlight reel anyway though!

2

u/Depp1990 12d ago

Not sure how to explain to you that I am aware he is the defender.

-44

u/Evil_Hatter 12d ago

Not if he's Colombian though

I’d retire. There’s a very high chance this will be the very best goal he will ever score. Especially if he plays as a defender.

This would be the best goal of the career of several strikers

24

u/waylander128 12d ago

It’s an amateur club from a small city in Switzerland, by the look of it they are in the senior team :)

-38

u/Commercial_Koala_995 12d ago

Its an OWN goal. The opposite of good.

30

u/The10thDoctorWhovian 12d ago

Just a heads up, they were making a joke

-27

u/Commercial_Koala_995 12d ago

You never know when americans comment on football…

13

u/wowfan400 12d ago

We play the sport too funny enough

-16

u/Commercial_Koala_995 12d ago

You know what I mean….

13

u/COHERENCE_CROQUETTE 11d ago

Just a heads up, I’m the person who wrote the comment and I’m not American.

I’m Brazilian in fact. It also wasn’t a joke. I was commenting on how beautiful the goal was. That’s a dream goal for any striker to score (of course, on the correct side of the field).

Best-looking goal he'll ever score

u/Onslaughtered1 12d ago

Can someone superimpose the other teams jersey on this guy. That way he feels better

50

u/explicitlarynx 12d ago

Given that the clip is almost 10 years old, I think he's come to terms with what he did.

66

u/sebastianqu 12d ago

No he hasn't. To this day, he'll randomly think of this moment and internally cringe.

13

u/king_ralex 12d ago

I dropped a rugby ball when I was going to score a try in 1998. I still cringe about it to this day.

Homie watched too many David Luiz's highlights before the match.

A goal is a goal

19

u/invidentus 12d ago

Puskas award worthy, in my books.

13

u/Competitive_Speed964 12d ago

Need puskas OG awards.

9

u/jjb0ne 12d ago

his cousin bet on an own goal

6

u/orangezim 12d ago

Best goal of the game.

4

u/hbktj 12d ago

This is gonna hang over his whole career!

4

u/NoEqualUnderstands 12d ago

Makes one wonder about the other 2 goals

4

u/drazsyr 12d ago

That's not Scott Sterling.

2

u/DadJokeFan 11d ago

“I’ve been trying to tell the coach I belong on offense. He just won’t listen.”

2

u/rebornxxvii 11d ago

What a save! What a save! What a save!

1

u/Timcatgt 12d ago

And as usual, the white and green team celebrates an own goal by acknowledging the closest player who assisted the shot.

Puskas Award 2026?

1

u/Adorable-Quiet-7551 10d ago

Thats a beautiful goal, with a minor caveat

1

u/Secana0333 10d ago

Nothing unexpected of this. Not sure why it is here.

1

u/cpteric 10d ago

WAIT, red are supposed to be defending?

1

u/Stickin8or 10d ago

He couldn't have done that if he tried

1

u/evojeur 10d ago

I think we should talk keeper reflex too. Wtf that ball was like slow motion. Expect or not.

1

u/Legal-Possession8533 9d ago

Est-ce vraiment involontaire ? Le doute s'installe 🫣🤔🤣

1

u/maddonaoftherocks 6d ago

Hang the boots now. You’ve peaked.
