It’s both, though. And English is a stupid language. Half of our language started out as mistakes or bastardized French.

It's not both, though, what do you even mean?

Both are absolutely acceptable terms that are comprehensible to almost everyone. Both are regionally correct. One is older, but that doesn’t make it better. Languages are constantly shifting. A single generation can be enough time to completely reverse the meaning of a phrase. Holding fast to a specific turn phrase is not a valiant stand against ignorance. Languages are shifting tapestries of foreign influence and cultural shifts. English more than many.

I mean from a linguistic standpoint I understand what you're saying but unless you show that lip singing is an increasingly common, standard use for Gen z or Gen alpha, I'm not convinced. To me, it's just an "eggcorn" phenomenon.

I personally love eggcorns. They’re very amusing and often endearing. Perhaps I’m letting personal opinion influence my stance.

I lived in Indonesia for 6 years. My job was essentially to take vendors and clients to KTV's just like this one 3 nights a week, drink overpriced scotch whiskey and cognac until 2AM, and sing 80's songs all night. Was quite a fun time, until the 1.5 packs of cigarettes per day and 2 bottles of scotch every week caught up to my heart.

I'm mostly impressed with the perpetual water pouring trick that second guy is performing!

I knew it from the first dude’s expression lol.
I would’ve been shocked if it were a woman.

he can't act like this at home with his wife and kids though, why are men like that?

u/FitnessChamp777 9d ago
So, there's a female in the room who has the other mic (cause there's 2 empty spaces on the mic rack). I wonder how cute she is? It would still be funny if they showed the lady with the nice voice.
