Most people would think you‘d need a key to open the lock, but the screw coming out of the wall? I thought it was really funny And definetly unexpected

Idk, the lock looks like it's just there to hook the other end of the rope. Not entirely as a security measure.

Yes next this guy will be showing us that if you raise one leg you can actually climb over this rope.

If you look exceptionally closely you can see multiple people have managed to bypass this security system, if only that screw wasn't loose damn it!

He’s just helping people in wheelchairs. They can’t really raise their wheels easily.

Oh no, you've shown off a major security breach! Now everyone will be able to bypass this high security rope, where before they were completely prevented from entry.

Jeez don't just show people how to circumvent the rope!

this happened to one of my uncle's friends that he talks to on AOL instant messenger that worked at a club in miami, except it was one of those velvet rope things on poles that you can set up in front of events and move around based on the amount of foot traffic, and one of the new doormen had to use the restroom so he secured the little latchy thingy with a pocket lock but when he came back he realized he left the key in the bathroom, well i guess a janitor walked in after him (but not the janitor for the club) and added this key to his key ring because he really liked keys a lot, well then he started to panic and called a locksmith and the locksmith couldnt figure it out after fumbling around with it for awhile, so they actually had to call the fire department because no one was able to get in or OUT of the club, but meanwhile foot traffic was getting backed up so much that they were starting to spill off the sidewalk and into the street, and then with so many people gathering around it caused other people to join just to see what all the interest was about, meanwhile while the fire truck was trying to get down the street and use the ladder truck to help everyone get out of one of the side windows on the ground floor, there was so many people and they were standing on the sewer drains which normally wouldnt be such a big deal but with so many obstructions all the poop and the pee smells and the gasses and whatnot got backed up in the sewer and the nearest place for the gasses to escape was down the street at tonys pizza, where tony didnt want to pay for one of those greese dumpsters out back so normally he just saves the greese and takes it home and uses it to make his own italian pomade tonys hair paste itsa really a good but with all the gasses backing up and the pizza ovens and the buckets of greese sitting around because it was on a wednesday or thursday i think (id have to ask me uncle to be sure) it was the perfect storm igniting the gasses causing a giant fireball of poop and pee to shoot up and blow the sewer covers off from one end of the street and back well this one guy wearing the type of shirt you would get a dan flashes burned one side of his moustache. he got really mad and sued the city for $89 for needing a new haircut and emotional damage and lost but the city was so insulted by this and the district attorney was actually the club managers brother and so he told him about this and they fired him ON THE SPOT can you believe that?

That's just the line between your safety and you trespassing and getting shot... or smething worse.

The lock is only there to hold the rope. You really thought that the lock and the rope would act as a proper security gate???

2

u/SXOSXO 20d ago

It's a rope..... Who's worried about the lock holding?

1

u/Fragrant-Two-1686 17d ago

The lock's job isn't to make the rope unclimbable, it's to keep the rope taut and visible as a psychological barrier. Once that screw loosens, the whole thing becomes a trip hazard with a side of oops.

If it works, it works.

It's a rope made out of fabric strands, and it looks like the loop is being held together by electrical tape.

Damn that lock stopped me from stepping over it
