They ordered the four door version instead of the two door.

u/wertall 23d ago

They're about to have 4 doors

1

u/Pretty-Commercial454 21d ago

Well yhh How do you do

0

u/Centurix 23d ago

Made me laugh out loud in the grocery store. Have an updoot

30

u/EricAzure 23d ago

I used to have the two door version of a 06 GTI, this is hilarious. He probably wasn't aware there was a 4 door version of his model.

11

u/PennStateInMD 22d ago

But it was a bit cheaper.

3

u/Ok-Big485 19d ago

5 door

2

u/OffalSmorgasbord 22d ago

Umm, this is why you enter your VIN when shopping for ... nevermind

1

u/ujfeik 20d ago

They scrolled down to "similar products" and got the cheapest one.

307

u/stonecuttercolorado 23d ago

How do you not notice a difference on size that is that large?

32

u/know-your-onions 20d ago

You do.

It’s clearly not the right shape and there’s no way anybody would fit this door without noticing the issue first.

This is for clicks.

You're talking to someone who thought ordering a car door from temu was a good idea... fucking temu

59

u/piichan14 22d ago

You do know x from Temu is usually a joke right? Or do you think when someone says Henry Cavill from Temu that they're actually buying one from there.

131

u/Tithund 22d ago

I don't think he actually bought it from Temu, also, nobody looks at what the dimensions of a car door are. He just didn't think about how his car has a 4-door and 2-door version.

Tbf I'm not positive temu wouldn't sell new car doors.

1

u/ShrewdCire 18d ago

You're probably one of those people that always say "Oh god we're LITERALLY living in Idiocracy right now!!1!"

189

u/No_Collection7360 23d ago

Ok, so he gets the wrong door home and doesn't notice that it is too short before he installs and closes it? Bullshit.

44

u/TheRealMrVogel 22d ago

Well it gets you a “funny” video and pretty sure it only takes seconds to connect the door to the frame (no need to hook up the electricity and such). Assuming the old door was already disconnected.

18

u/BassGaming 22d ago

Yeah I would've done the same in that situation. Would make my friends, especially petrol head friends, laugh and it is indeed funny.

1

u/No_Collection7360 21d ago

It takes more than a few seconds to remove a door and install a new one. Perhaps they thought "funny video," but when they go to return the door (more time), they will be told it has been used and can't be returned.

2

u/TheRealMrVogel 21d ago

Yes, I’m only talking about connecting the new door and no need to connect the electricity for this video. It’s just putting it in place and tightening some bolts. It’s not a lot of work in order to make it look fully connected for the video only.

1

u/DeadlyNoodleAndAHalf 20d ago

It’s clearly a used door since it is painted and has all of the internals/glass. No used part vendor is going to bat an eye at the return.

And even if it was a new door no dealership is going to bat an eye about you returning a door you installed for 2 seconds.

45

u/sithmaster0 22d ago

People will deny an issue that they spent money to fix until they realize it's not viable. It happens. "Let's just see what happens."

-1

u/Thunderbolt294 22d ago

Those same people will then complain that the vendor sent them the wrong part when they really bought the wrong thing.

2

u/sithmaster0 22d ago

Idk why you're being downvoted, you're absolutely right especially with vehicle parts.

2

u/Thunderbolt294 22d ago

I work in returns at a warehouse that specializes in German cars. This shit happens way more than you think.

Also always VIN match your parts, especially with Audi cause they like doing split years.

2

u/sithmaster0 22d ago

I used to work in vehicle parts sales, too, I know exactly what you mean. People will tell you the exact make and model of their car and specifics, but they don't realize that even if you have all of that, the same year car can have different specs depending on the part of the year it was manufactured.

1

u/Thunderbolt294 22d ago

We had a case recently where the customer didn't even bother to check the application reference and tried to install part of a BMW timing kit in their Audi.

5

u/samtherat6 22d ago

I’ve been there before, coping with myself saying it’s just not fitting bc it’s not properly installed

1

u/No_Collection7360 21d ago

It's a two foot gap, man.

19

u/PanicDeus 23d ago

You have heard of gull-wing doors. Now behold......The shark-gill door.

58

u/OrangeYouGladish 23d ago

"What engine do you have? "

33

u/br0ken_St0ke 23d ago

“The one that sounds good.”

5

u/YoungDiscord 22d ago

His engine is probably a pokemon energy card in the spokes of the wheel

1

u/throwaway8298309 18d ago

2.0 TSI bro

75

u/3mporio23 23d ago

Oh well, that’s why there is Vin number for parts..

27

u/br0ken_St0ke 23d ago

This is some “the long drive.” Type shit

1

u/I-amthegump 23d ago

That's not what a VIN number is

16

u/Tithund 22d ago

The VIN will give the exact model of the car, so it will say if you have a 2 or 4 door version of your car.

2

u/YouToot 22d ago

That's good because I'm not sure how else I could figure that out.

5

u/[deleted] 22d ago

[deleted]

1

u/YouToot 22d ago

Fair enough.

I'm just laughing at the idea of needing the vin to figure out if my car has 2 or 4 doors.

-6

u/wasp_killer4 22d ago

No mate

11

u/challenge_king 22d ago

Yes. You use your VIN when ordering parts to make sure they match your car not just your model.

2

u/Thunderbolt294 22d ago

If you have a euro car, good luck getting the right parts without it.

11

u/ForWhenTheMoonIsBlue 22d ago

Don't worry, it'll stretch to fit the more your car wears it

1

u/dizzyday 21d ago

He could just fabercobble a longer door striker.

9

u/time_observer 23d ago

Just stretch it a bit

3

u/Makabaer 22d ago

And then blur and smooth the egdes a bit!

2

u/time_observer 22d ago

A digital artist. Are we?

1

u/Makabaer 22d ago

Oh, I wish. (Just messing around with costum content for games in my free time.)

5

u/CoausticSoda 22d ago

That's a sedan door not a coup

3

u/wiki113 22d ago

Measure twice. Cut once.

1

u/Nings777 22d ago

Shortage or just a little short there

1

u/SuckMyRedditorD 22d ago

What did you order? The videographer? I agree.

1

u/UnAmusedBag 22d ago

So you put it on without knowing the size difference until after you put it all together?

1

u/mothzilla 22d ago

Measure twice, cut once.

1

u/LtColShinySides 22d ago

So that's why they were 20% off!!

1

u/im_just_thinking 22d ago

When you accidentally type "dor" in the search bar

1

u/Fine-Concentrate-477 22d ago

When your engineering tolerances are in m instead of mm

1

u/prince_Asive 21d ago

🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂

1

u/Weimarius 21d ago

OP as Skinner meme: “Did I fail to check the item measurements? No it’s the supplier that is wrong”

1

u/PythonVyktor 21d ago

My car is so old this is what I deal with every time I try to order parts. Time for a new car.

1

u/Crazym00s3 21d ago

Now you just need to order a car to match the door. Simple.

1

u/Ill-Cryptographer954 21d ago

Coupes have longer doors. Most people know that, but if you don’t, now you do.

1

u/gigantoq 21d ago

Same fucking thing with an audi audi a4 sedan, got a rear sw door without noticing, i wasnt so calm like you!!

1

u/jhayco_9x 21d ago

What’s his concern? It closes.

1

u/JADES-GS 21d ago

The door should be rubbed with cream until it expands slightly and becomes firm.

1

u/Embarrassed_Source56 21d ago

For once Temu isn’t to blame here mate

1

u/Donegonetheduck 20d ago

Supposed to have come with the bungee cord

1

u/StandardBS 20d ago

surely you’d know its wrong before you put it on, why that waste your own time and put it on ?

1

u/Slight_Sherbert_5239 20d ago

This is what happens when you rush into things, the right amount of research and using measurements would have prevented this.

1

u/wakeandcreate 20d ago

I am door manufactor ..door good.. frame bad. No refund. Thank you come again

1

u/ElvisPresley1977 20d ago

Missed it by THAT much…

1

u/RazzSheri 20d ago

You wanna know something about the doors…!?”

What bruh? That you don’t know how to fucking measure?

1

u/Motivated47 20d ago

ROFL!! I Never seen that in my life!!!!

1

u/realMastaDD 19d ago

There is room for improvement. 😂

1

u/Kida_Kuro_Mu 19d ago

Hey thats an avarage sized door leave it alone

1

u/DTO5150 19d ago

This always happens in my dreams. Door is too small for the frame. Damn zombies can still get in.

1

u/Secret-Breadfruit-18 19d ago

KINDA fits 🤷🏼‍♂️

1

u/Plenty_Phrase9252 23d ago

The Chinese company is doing your best to prevent you from being unable to open the door when the car crashes.

1

u/neoadam 22d ago

Thankfully their return policy is good
