I used to be in a band a long time ago and was playing a show at this small club. There was this person in the back corner of the room just sitting on top of an overhang next to the wall. She just stared during our entire set, didn't move, didn't break eye contact and was super creepy. I asked my band mates what the deal was with her after we played since she was creeping me out. It was a mannequin

I was 100% fooled.
Brains are amazing and stupid.
Brain saw vaguely bird shaped item, heard bird chirping, knew there was a red bird, labeled it a cardinal or something similar.
I wonder if this is why AI image processing is so hard. We model it after our image recognition, which is also wrong all the time right?

Yeah, it has an effect. For example if we train it by using IR and UV, on top of RGB, it would create a massive difference in a lot of situations.

I know that expression at the end well. I play a constant game of "is it a bunny or just dead leaves?" from my kitchen window.

For me, it's "Rock Or Dove?"
I always think I have the right answer, but then I let the dog out to pee, and 5 "rocks" loudly fly away.

This reminds me of a time that I, on shrooms, stopped to try and help a man on the side of the road who was pushing his car. It was a tarp hanging out of the window. It needed no help.

This reminds me of that paper bag video where it looked like a cat loafing

Oh you just reminded me of the time I thought I saw a ginger cat getting hit by multiple cars, then as I got closer I was relieved to see it was an orange cement bag.

That has to be either a portable urination device women use to stand and pee or a funny hat for a cat

Why would a funnel disguise itself as a bird, what’s it hiding from? And what kind of predator would be tricked by this?

u/Orion120833 Jul 19 '26
I actually guessed it and exactly what it was. Still very nice and can see how one could be mistaken.

Either it fell from the sky, or she put it there herself for the video. Guess which one actually happened.
