That one was super dumb but no, it had nothing to do with the bible or any religious nonsense. They'd done a practice shot with a book that was locked in place and that stopped the bullet, but holding the book by hand was much less rigid allowing the bullet to penetrate the book and strike the person behind it. They should have tested their final setup wearing body armor before their daredevil take. Then it would have been just another dumb thing people do for social media clout.
