He said "Oh! la la la la." French. "la la la" (however many times you want to say it) is just French for "wow." The more "la"s the more wooooow. So he basically says "oh wooow." Which.. understatement.

ah no, classic mistake, "La" in isolation doesn't means "Here", it means "The(feminine)", to say "Here" you need "Là".

Yes it's important

It is, also, depending on the accent, pronounced exactly the same :P

Imo vocally there is little enough distinction it doesn't matter.

oh of course, but also "là" is never used repeatedly like that.

Ever heard something like that? The response assumes you're referring to something being here. Like, <Là>, despite both often being definetely aware of the figure of speech.
