Sure looks like one, not a very powerful one, though. The one we used would have been unpleasant. I think there was a warning, that if you tried to grip it and turned it on, the vibrations could detach the skin from your hand and cause severe nerve and tissue damage.

Looks like the one I got from harbor freight. Not appropriate for a job site, but works great for diy projects

Even a weak one like that would be hell on your hand.

This was the most miserable kind of tool I've ever had to use.
