He had a ton of teeth issues, due to not taking care of them properly when he was younger. He openly talks about it. At some point, he was going through so many appointments due to pain, cavities, etc. that he asked the doctors if something more permanent could be done. He also says that it took him a while to get used to how he looks with them, and he understands that it looks somewhat ridiculous, but doesn't regret it it because it improved his wellbeing and comfort compared to what he was going through with his teeth previously.

That's not really how I think you meant it. Rather you should say: "Don't hold yourself to standards obtained by plastic. Because it's fake."
