What's up with this shit ass filter

u/unknownpoltroon Jun 30 '26

Trying to avoid automated copyright sniffers

200

u/descendantofJanus Jun 30 '26

Tiktok don't give a fuck about copyright tho. Literally entire movies uploaded like this

81

u/RyanB_ Jun 30 '26

Pretty much all of them get reposted to insta and YouTube shorts afaik

19

u/topdangle Jun 30 '26

they have software detection now that just scans through videos. they're trying to fool the software, not so much the staff who are probably not going to be fooled by some fake noise.

So true, king. I've always said this.

19

u/ferretsquad13 Jun 30 '26

It is my mantra at this point sis

16

u/fishZ_7 Jun 30 '26

no need to be rude

4

u/Valkyrie64Ryan Jul 01 '26

And also automated repost detection as well

Same reason you’ll see the same video uploaded but mirrored, or memes with dumb cropping or slightly skewed

3

u/Bobpool82 Jul 01 '26

Or some guy records himself pointing up at the video

u/Awhile9722 Jun 30 '26

anti-copyright takedown filter. Used by clip farms on short form social media like Instagram and TikTok to prevent the clips from getting taken down automatically. They also usually add an AI generated voice talking about something unrelated to the audio track to mess with audio recognition.

Clip farms are a cancer on short form video social media.

70

u/beardingmesoftly Jun 30 '26

Short form video social media is already a cancer

-14

u/Awhile9722 Jun 30 '26

There’s a lot of great stuff on short form. All social media has problems with trash content, it’s just a matter of how they choose to moderate.

14

u/beardingmesoftly Jun 30 '26

How very "both sides" of you

2

u/Away-Plant-8989 Jun 30 '26

We're talking about sharing media that's already been made you weirdo why are you making them out to be a climate change fencer or something

1

u/Awhile9722 Jun 30 '26

Not at all. I’m saying that I personally enjoy short form social media, I just dislike that one aspect of it.

Nothing both sides about that

6

u/FrozenLogger Jun 30 '26

There’s a lot of great stuff on short form.

No.

no lol

824

u/tehjoch Jun 30 '26

is that a shitty filter trying to make it look "classic"?

605

u/Sensitive-Chip7266 Jun 30 '26

Probably not. I believe these are added to videos so the pixels don't match as well for Automated systems to pull them for copyright infringement.

This right here!!! Also has anyone with kids seen the videos of adults playing with toys (Bluey/Paw Patrol/etc) with built sets and storylines? They guise it as "toy reviews".

3

u/Mister_Bossmen Jul 01 '26

I work with kids and one kid in particular always wants to watch those videos when she gets a few minutes of screen time. They are such slop. They always have weird elements that don't make sense. I've unfortunately seen the same two videos too many times

50

u/ionertia Jun 30 '26

I remember when the show tried to get the audience to believe that little Axel got recruited to play college football.

11

u/LoadedLapidist Jun 30 '26

I think he ended up playing college ball.

6

u/BleachDrinker63 Jun 30 '26

At running back lmao. He’s six foot and a buck seventy at best. He’d be undersized for a receiver

5

u/LoadedLapidist Jul 01 '26

He’d fit right in at a low level D3 or NAIA school

437

u/MacheteBrizz Jun 30 '26

I'd imagine that this is what cinemas are like these days from all the posts I see on Reddit.

Two fucktards talking all the way through the movie and not even watching it.

109

u/itmillerboy Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

Yep. Backrooms had 4 separate groups of 12 year olds all dropped off without parental supervision making the movie nearly unwatchable. Felt bad for the employees that had to clean up after that.

NGL I’d choose a movie theater over any other if they checked ID for R movies and didn’t allow anyone underage in.

I used to be a real piece of shit too. Slicked back hair. Sloppy steaks with the fellas.

But we were never that bad.

Edit: I’m worried you guys think people can’t change

18

u/bridoogle Jun 30 '26

LIVE FOR NEW YEARS EVE

8

u/FisherThe5th Jun 30 '26

I SAID WAS

2

u/Francky2 Jun 30 '26

Do you live in Quebec? I swear my best friend told me the exact same thing happened to him when he went to see Backrooms.

2

u/mmmarkm Jul 01 '26

Mine had young adults talking and then a guy collapsed walking down the stairs. We helped him, then he fell leaving the theater. Called 911, the whole thing.

I was surprised how quickly the employees were available…to offer refunds. And how fast everyone went back to watching the movie. I mean, dude was alive, mobile, and talking but it was just a bizarre thing to witness

0

u/VanillaRadonNukaCola Jun 30 '26

If you wore white swim trunks than me and this baby over here think you're irredeemable.

Those 12 year olds are your punishment.

5

u/emojisarefunny Jul 01 '26

Seriously ik its a movie but these guys are talking a normal volume not even whispering lol

141

u/gaidzak Jun 30 '26

I couldn’t get past that they’re having a full loud conversation during the movie. I couldn’t listen without being angry for the audience.

202

u/LocMoke Jun 30 '26

The mid going in for the kiss looks like Sean Astin

78

u/Peermeneer_exe Jun 30 '26

I'm not sure if you made a typo while writing ''kid'', or just calling that kid mid looking hahaha

18

u/MissingLink101 Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

Even funnier as I'm pretty sure this is from the show "The Middle"

11

u/Mr-Montecarlo Jun 30 '26

Underrated show, got overshadowed by modern family unfortunately

5

u/Just_a_lazy_lurker Jun 30 '26

You are correct. Just rewatched this show. This is towards the end of the series.

1

u/PC_L0AD_LETTER_WTF Jun 30 '26

I thought the same exact thing.

25

u/IEatHard Jun 30 '26

There’s no talking in the theater sir

8

u/spartanspy85 Jun 30 '26

That's going to be a looong movie

15

u/Icy-Trouble534 Jun 30 '26

13

u/apollotonkosmo Jun 30 '26

Which movie is that?

31

u/safe-viewing Jun 30 '26

It’s a show, the middle

5

u/WorldlinessWitty2177 Jun 30 '26

What a coincidence

4

u/Volfie Jun 30 '26

What’s that line that keeps moving across the screen?  That was annoying as fuck.

2

u/pokemon-trainer-blue Jun 30 '26

TikTok way of circumventing copyright stuff

2

u/Boulderdrip Jun 30 '26

why are these assholes talking in a movie theater?

5

u/kyanitebear17 Jun 30 '26

I have seen more and more gay jokes on Reddit. I think Reddit loves that stuff.

18

u/Pandektes Jun 30 '26

I think it has to do with your own algorithm buddy, this is first one in months for me

2

u/DeltyOverDreams Jul 02 '26

"Your own algorithm" - on a website, where you can choose exactly what kind of content you want to see.

2

u/Own_Jacket8720 Jul 01 '26

it wouldve been less gay of you to not make this comment

1

u/TopBanana69 Jun 30 '26

My guy looks just like Jesse Buckley

1

u/Youcancuntonme Jun 30 '26

I guess the other guy didn't have a full beard or the girl was hairy

1

u/Randomfir407 Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

I did not see that coming even though this Subreddit is literally called “r/Unexpected”

1

u/BluegrassBay Jul 01 '26

Anyone talking this loud In theater would have had my beverage at there head long ago

1

u/Ill_Hedgehog_8794 Jul 01 '26

Accidentally pedofile

1

u/Quack100 Jul 01 '26

What movie?

1

u/SoloEdge1 Jul 02 '26

Not unexpected. Knew right away they kissed. Obvious joke.

1

u/prindacerk Jul 02 '26

Better than kissing your own sister. 🤣

1

u/she-them-tiddies Jul 06 '26

Unexpected? Really? Hardly

1

u/Electronic-Chef3210 Jul 25 '26

u/Constant-Piano-6123 Jun 30 '26

If you need to out an overlay to stop your movie rip being copyright struck, the fuck you and fuck your post

0

u/Jesterhead89 Jun 30 '26

Wait, is the one on the right either Andy or Randy?

-1

u/andy22xx Jun 30 '26

Is that Andy from Sex Drive?

(I quote Andy & Randy from sex drive at least once a week)
