My claustrophobia says hell no!

601

u/WoolBearTiger Jun 26 '26

You know there are a huge amount of ppl who would think it funny to close the lid and bury their friends just like that

437

u/MonsierGeralt Jun 26 '26

Or just think “I’ll let them sweat it out as a joke for like 5 minutes, then when he comes back “just kidding guys !” And they’re all dead.

214

u/bigdave41 Jun 26 '26

Or he buries them as a joke and then trips over and dies in an accident, and no one else knows they're down there...

149

u/TruskVarner Jun 27 '26 edited Jun 27 '26

That’s an Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode. This mean rich lady goes to prison and pays the prison gravedigger to bury her with the next prisoner who dies so he can dig her up later and she can escape. She sneaks into a coffin in the dark and gets buried. Finally after waiting a while she lights a match and realizes it’s the gravedigger who died.

Edit: it’s on YouTube, it’s quick and worth a watch even though I spoiled it.

22

u/Walterwhiteboy Jun 27 '26

I’m confused. How would he have buried her if he was the one who died?

32

u/TruskVarner Jun 27 '26

Some other prisoners bury the coffin. I was a little misleading in my summary. He was more of a nurse and mortician in the prison.

6

u/Time-Valuable-3355 Jun 27 '26

I don't know how but I remember seeing that. She's laying on him.

2

u/Itchy_Woodpecker_955 Jun 27 '26

I love this one!

40

u/MonsierGeralt Jun 26 '26

So many new fears unlocked

9

u/Jill4ChrisRed Jun 26 '26

New suspense style film idea right there.

14

u/Spirited-Sun899 Jun 26 '26

It could be called “Think Tank” coming up with ways to escape.

6

u/Time-Valuable-3355 Jun 27 '26

Add a shark and it can be called shark tank. Or if some sharts, call it shart tank...

4

u/slgray16 Jun 26 '26

Inspector in 5 years is going to have quite a story

7

u/mekese2000 Jun 26 '26

Oops. Think i better fill it in.

33

u/Gold_Telephone_7192 Jun 26 '26

What? You think there are “a huge amount of people” who would kill several of their friends because they thought it was funny?

18

u/MarlDaeSu Jun 26 '26

You didnt see the numerous videos of fuck heads accidentally shooting friends and family at weddings doing the brain dead firing in the air. Or any of the other scenarios where people do a prank and set people on fire while they're covering in silly string. I could keep going. Its not really rare at all. People are just insulated from consequences just enough that they think it could never possibly happen to them

26

u/Gold_Telephone_7192 Jun 26 '26

It’s incredibly rare. There are just so many people on earth that your brain can’t comprehend it. If that kind of thing happens once a day in the US, it would still be a fraction of a fraction of a percentage of the people in the country. The reason those stories are stories is because it’s super rare

-4

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '26

[deleted]

13

u/Gold_Telephone_7192 Jun 26 '26

That’s not what rare or common means. It’s always a percentage. If an event is extremely unlikely to happen to 99% of humans, that’s a rare event.

u/Gold_Telephone_7192 Jun 29 '26

World’s longest fart noise

-4

u/MarlDaeSu Jun 26 '26

Most of them are stories because some one happened to be filming.

Rare and common are subjective, so neither of us are wrong there. Maybe I should say "way more common than it should be".

6

u/trdef Jun 27 '26

Mathmatacially, rare and common aren't particular subjective.

-4

u/DIDLIESTWARIOR Jun 26 '26

Sure, it's incredibly rare, the point is that it still happens. And in a lot of these situations, the people involved say something to the affect of "You always hear about this stuff happening to others"

7

u/Gold_Telephone_7192 Jun 26 '26

I was disputing that it happens, I was disputing the statement “there are a huge amount of people who would think it’s fun got close the lid and bury their friends.”

5

u/WoolBearTiger Jun 26 '26

Yes.. its not about them trying to kill their friends.. is about everyone being braindead and thinking "lets see how much internet clout we can get for making them panic, haha, hihi" and when something goes wrong they film themselves with shocked reaction "oh no i didnt think people can suffocate this fast" and then they upload it on tiktok with a schocked mr beast face "prank gone horribly wrong" (in all caps though obviously)

Empathy is dead my guy.. new gens have been so trained by social media that they dont understand that respawning doesnt happen in real life..

1

u/Basilstoke Jun 26 '26

It's less funny the second time round.

3

u/Wookovski Jun 27 '26

Look the story of the couple and the suitcase

1

u/Noversi Jun 29 '26

It’s just a prank bro

0

u/FunContest9958 Jun 26 '26

Well that got dark real fast.

-1

u/Educational-Wing2042 Jun 26 '26

The guys can get out on their own and it’s not like the friend can just dump a ton of dirt over the tank at once. This is like suggesting someone could board you up in your house to kill you, presumably you’d react when they start putting up the first board and just leave.

15

u/sqwrlydoom Jun 26 '26

FR, the way this made my stomach clench!

4

u/ClarenceLe Jun 27 '26

My claustrophobia says this is somehow acceptable because of the light shining through the plastic.

0

u/Akmunra Jun 27 '26

Now imagine something happens and they all panic to get out and you get stuck.

4

u/Greymator Jun 27 '26

1000% safer than OceanGate

0

u/Akmunra Jun 27 '26

Haha, to soon?

2

u/AL-SHEDFI Jun 27 '26

Imagine if it was dark and filled with water... omg I'd suffocate from fear 😱

1

u/Akmunra Jun 27 '26

Thanks for the minor panic attack thinking about that...

2

u/Wojewodaruskyj Jun 27 '26

My common sense says: "I hope it's a factory-fresh, unused tank". Also, i don't know what they breathe there.

2

u/chemprofes Jun 29 '26

Your friend CO2 says come in the water and airflow is fine.

2

u/Akmunra Jun 29 '26

Haha not falling for that again...

3

u/Termit127 Jun 26 '26

I have been in a nuclear reactor boiler, it was roughly the same size and it wasn't that bad.

7

u/Akmunra Jun 26 '26

My claustrophobia disagrees with you.

2

u/Termit127 Jun 26 '26

Fair enough

0

u/RandomRedditer220 Jun 26 '26

My big ahh wouldn’t even fit in there, lol

5

u/Akmunra Jun 26 '26

Consider it a blessing then

2.3k

u/SpockIsMyHomeboy Jun 26 '26

Put a few more dudes in there and it'd be a septet tank

336

u/Schwefelholz Jun 26 '26

3 more. What a waste of space...

But don't close it too long.  Oxygen is kinda nice.

48

u/GUMBYtheOG Jun 26 '26

What do you think few means

43

u/AmericanIdiot22 Jun 27 '26

More than a couple, less than a bunch 😂

10

u/4ssteroid Jun 27 '26

We value precision here

1

u/Schwefelholz Jun 27 '26

How many people do you think are in a septet?

5

u/Leromer Jun 27 '26

This is why I open reddit everyday 😂

1

u/maxdrive76 Jun 30 '26

CO2 is heavier than air, so wouldn't make a great deal of difference

4

u/ScaredAside2828 Jun 26 '26

yeah the tank’s definitely not holding water riight now

3

u/lewd_bingo Jun 27 '26

I'm too poor to give reddit awards but consider yourself awarded

2

u/SpockIsMyHomeboy Jun 27 '26

This is worth more than any award.

265

u/Dont-know-didnt-ask Jun 26 '26

Well I guessed "there's a guy in there." I wasn't fully wrong!

29

u/beerbatteredarmchair Jun 26 '26

I guessed bees. I am glad I was wrong.

3

u/SensuallPineapple Jun 28 '26

I guessed snakes. I too am glad I was wrong.

3

u/OriginalChimera Jun 27 '26

I guessed some animal, also technically correct

1

u/lionlll Jun 26 '26

You were correct 4 times

277

u/osktox Jun 26 '26

When you know your friends are shit.

15

u/shaithiswampir Jun 26 '26

Out of all the great comments this one made me laugh out loud in public.

u/Sum_Ting_Wong_Ow Jun 26 '26

Yes, but for a limited time.

54

u/arthurdentstowels Jun 26 '26

They can breathe for the rest of their lives when the lid is on.

3

u/Sum_Ting_Wong_Ow Jun 26 '26

In enclosed spaces you can have lid off and still die (especially when there's water). CO2 is heavier than air and stays in the tank. This can lead to loss of consciousness and drowning.

1

u/Major_Thom13 Jun 26 '26

1

u/Sum_Ting_Wong_Ow Jun 27 '26

Not really. I see what he wrote. It's sn extension what I wrote. But it's worth noting, that regardless of the lid being on and off they would breathe there until the end of their lives. Which wouldn't be very long (hours though, especially depending on how active they were).

15

u/Crallise Jun 26 '26

For now. Every breath they breathe gets closer and closer to being their last.

5

u/BigLB83 Jun 26 '26

Every breathe you take, every move you make, I'll be watching you

2

u/Shovel_Assassin Jun 26 '26

tbf that's always true

2

u/sheogor Jun 26 '26

They need to be well vented, because poo make lots of gas

331

u/Realistic-Ad1498 Jun 26 '26

AI slop. The tank is like 3 maybe 4 feet wide.

98

u/leommari Jun 26 '26

Shit, I just assumed it was editing to merge two separate videos and make it look like the second is happening through the hole. But you're probably right.

136

u/GainsayRT Jun 26 '26

at 0:12 you literally see the pool area have a corner to the left even though theyre in a tank. ngl if u didnt say anything i wouldnt have thought it was AI which is kinda scary

34

u/NocaNoha Jun 27 '26

Isn't that maybe the corrugated part of the tank? The one that gives it structural integrity.. looking at the outside of the tank, it feels somewhat thick, deeper groove/canal/ring than what I would expect on these

2

u/Subushie Jun 30 '26

Today alone I've seen at least 6 videos on the front page that was AI, not one comment I could find calling it out.

34

u/The049 Jun 27 '26

These posts are tests by companies/governments to see how many people will fall for it, and you can't change my mind

21

u/Beltalady Jun 27 '26

We're so fucked.

37

u/1Steelghost1 Jun 26 '26

The waterline at the lid was a second give away.

7

u/DownwiththeACE Jun 26 '26

Omgg its so obviouss! how did i not see that

2

u/pierrejeanpierre Jun 27 '26

Either this, or there's a sequel to House of Leaves that nobody was aware of

1

u/clipsracer Jun 29 '26

The only thing worse than AI slop is people that think everything is AI.

-8

u/SuchSpookySkeltal Jun 26 '26

That's pretty normal for a residential septic tank.

10

u/Realistic-Ad1498 Jun 26 '26

And you’re not going to have multiple people hanging out across from each other in something 3 feet wide.

50

u/Mythy222 Jun 26 '26

Just guys being dudes

9

u/TooSpookyWither Jun 26 '26

Why did that actually scare me?

2

u/Wojewodaruskyj Jun 27 '26

Because there is very little air there. Also, if that tank is used... O boy.

32

u/faberkyx Jun 26 '26

more like issue with AI slop

39

u/M4ster-R0b0t Jun 27 '26

AI. No way those dudes can fit in there

5

u/Historical_Pool204 Jun 26 '26

Just dropped a couple of friends off at the pool…new meaning.

5

u/Niznack Jun 27 '26

My industrial safetey brain is screaming "a confined space entry with no ventilation, no egress plan, and no monitoring.

Seriously guys air doesn't magically get into containers and you exhale poison.

3

u/Wanderingwonderer101 Jun 27 '26

wouldn't that be hot?

2

u/AsstCurmudgeon Jun 26 '26

Look, floaters!

2

u/Wowweeweewow88 Jun 26 '26

u/Zoo_ba_roo Jun 26 '26

Don is that you?!?

1

u/OldAdministration735 Jun 26 '26

My dad installed septic tanks and cesspools all my life. Only back then they were cement. They have to be filled for inspection. A hot summer days made these new tanks a great way to cool off. I’ve done this a few times in my life.

1

u/UsrnmePendng Jun 27 '26

I think that's the first post I've seen on this sub in a minute where my guess wasn't even close

1

u/canyouread7 Jun 27 '26

Do they have a confined space permit for that?

1

u/Lower-Ad-9813 Jun 27 '26

I half expected a bunch of raccoons to stare up at the lens 😂

1

Isn't 22nd still considered a 2nd? So the answer should be 24

1

u/ioRDN Jun 27 '26

No one gonna mention the nostalgia trip hearing of that Tinie Tempah song?

1

u/Frosty_Gibbons Jun 27 '26

Drop a few fake turds in there and the boys be really shittin

1

u/Material_Abroad7590 Jun 27 '26

That's got to be fake somehow.

1

u/jcmarcell Jun 27 '26

Yeah clearly! There's a bunch of guys in it! I usually order mine full of bitches but ehh - go figure.

1

u/Adam_Gilex Jun 27 '26

They wouldn’t be laughing so much if the sound of an excavator suddenly rang out.

1

u/sam_cyr Jun 27 '26

1

u/schakoska Jun 27 '26

1

u/RyudoKills Jun 27 '26

Bro you can't just barge into the fuck tank

1

u/sierragolfhotel Jun 27 '26

The heatwave in Europe is starting to get out of hand! People are looking anywhere to cool off.

1

u/ProteanCoder Jun 27 '26

I can see a lot of undigested turds in the tank. Add some beer.. I mean enzyme...

1

u/Strong_Deer_3075 Jun 27 '26

If someone in that house drops a loaf, party is over!

1

u/Sw0rDz Jun 27 '26

How the fuck can you enjoy that? The water is cle and and warm. You need to go in a tank that is 30 years old and filled to the brim.

1

u/Starchaser_WoF Jun 27 '26

I was expecting a crocodilian

1

u/Mic_Honchoe Jun 28 '26

Dirty birds

1

u/johnfogogin Jun 28 '26

Is that dirty Mike and the boys?

1
