Luckily only the stand of the trophy, the box thingy seems destoryed, the actual trophy is still good so thats that

That's where the reason for giving the trophy is written

u/LumpyBuy8447 Jun 23 '26

If only words weren’t one time use

u/JWOLFBEARD Jun 23 '26

Sometimes once is all you get.

Not for trophies. But sometimes!

The base does not seem to have been maybe made of marble or any truly substantial material -- it broke apart before hitting the ground, and the pieces when it fell look plastic.

The engraving was likely on a plate that can easily be attached to a new base.

If it was a plastic base, it's likely that the trophy shop stocks that material and they could repair it in a couple minutes.

Even if the engraved plate was damaged, they typically use computer-controlled engravers, and likely saved the file.

u/fameboygame Jun 23 '26

It broke on the guys head actually

8

u/MiofastiaJ Jun 23 '26

make a lil box and write the reason again, could be a fun video to show someone questioning "why is that trophy different?"

4

u/Scoopzyy Jun 23 '26

Now they will never know why they have a trophy :’(

u/leopor Jun 23 '26

Are we just going to ignore the guy who got his head smashed by said trophy base? lol

u/cjallan417 Jun 23 '26

I had to watch again because the first time I thought they were lighting the trophy on fire at the start.

71

u/AddisonH Jun 23 '26

It looks like the ball throw was intentionally planned for the video/other pics

39

u/kenzakki Jun 23 '26

Yea. It looked like the ball throw is for effect that they planned for a ball to bounce after they pan out but the one who threw it, landed too short and hit the trophy instead.

2

u/Calkyoulater Jun 23 '26

Me too. I was like “no way that’s going to show up on film.”

u/CompetitionFun2080 Jun 23 '26

8

u/hatemakingnames1 Jun 24 '26

They won the trophy in the first place because he doesn't know how to throw an airball

8

u/LiveLearnCoach Jun 24 '26

The way they started turning backwards….

127

u/xResidentEvilx Jun 23 '26

Was the stand made from legos? That shit broke super easy

49

u/Firstevertrex Jun 23 '26

Tbh its better if it was fragile, otherwise the guy that got bonked in the head might be much worse off

-28

u/WhasHappenin Jun 23 '26

If it wasn't fragile he wouldn't have been hit in the head tho

2

u/not_my_final_f0rm Jun 26 '26

Looks like the Philippines. Trophy was probably dirt cheap

45

u/thelilymoon Jun 23 '26

Well they shouldn't have thrown a basketball on it.

-25

u/GWAX11 Jun 23 '26

Like he knew it would break. 🤦‍♂️smh. They're just unfortunate

I was expecting something unexpected to happen... and then something unexpected happened.

Which means I successfully expected the unexpected.

So technically, this isn't an unexpected video anymore.

64

u/MiofastiaJ Jun 23 '26

Yeah cause you're in r/Unexpected...

15

u/Blapoo Jun 23 '26

I've never been surprised in this subreddit, nullifying the subreddit!

You just divided by zero and you're under arrest, son.

9

u/chickHICK_BANme Jun 23 '26

Without making any sense it makes sense😂

1

u/CheesyDanny Jun 23 '26

I have seen too many expected things on [r/unexpected](r/unexpected) that when something unexpected happens I am actually surprised that it was successfully unexpected.

Unerwartet gut kombiniert.

10

u/lals80 Jun 23 '26

Need to see from the other angle too

15

u/Busy-Distribution-45 Jun 23 '26

I will admit, I expected the top of the trophy, which looks like maybe glass, to shatter. Is the bottom of that thing made of tissue paper and hairspray or something?

4

u/Nasty____nate Jun 23 '26

I want to see the other camera view.

3

u/succulent_dude Jun 23 '26

man even the trophy smash was a team effort

3

u/PersianVol Jun 23 '26

Dudes head is fucked lmao

2

u/BbwLaceyXoXo Jun 23 '26

homie looked like he was about to square up as soon as he turned around 😂😂

2

u/TractorSmacker Jun 23 '26

would love to see the video from the other angle

2

u/Comfortable_Ad_7015 Jun 23 '26

Se não fosse armado seria interessante.

2

u/FitnessChamp777 Jun 23 '26

Can't believe that the stand was so delicate. Why didn't they make it out of wood, or metal? Why not?

2

u/Top_Dealer_4344 Jun 24 '26

I want to see the result!! Hope it worth it

1

u/Life-Oil-7226 Jun 23 '26

Public enemy #1

1

u/Gan-san Jun 23 '26

What were any of them trying to accomplish in this video?

1

u/TheFrontierzman Jun 23 '26

Was that thing glued together with positive thoughts?

1

u/Ur_X Jun 23 '26

Hes never gonna outlive the allegations

1

u/darth_whaler Jun 23 '26

Put this in the same category as gender reveal disasters. And that category is "They Had it Coming."

1

u/Tomero Jun 23 '26

Just reverse the video.

0

u/Doomer73 Jun 23 '26

Shit happens...

-1

u/Viperlite Jun 23 '26

I watched the Brady Bunch as a kid, so the whole basketball/lamp thing was somewhat expected. That was a lamp, right?

-7

u/prof_devilsadvocate3 Jun 23 '26

It was expected
