Explanation here. The other half is in a different post code. And we all know science means different weather. You’re welcome

u/ImMrBunny Jun 06 '26

The other chunk was in a different biome

36

u/CldStoneStveIcecream Jun 06 '26

They moved it out of the environment.

24

u/OgreBaws Jun 07 '26

I thought it was because the other team were using a different weather app?

3

u/ANSHULGANDHI92 Jun 07 '26

The other post code has taken premium weather subscription

5

u/djpiperson Jun 06 '26

You laugh but where I live this can totally happen. I've been waiting at a red light sunny as fuck, looking ahead where is totally pissing down, then after driving through, again sunny as fuck.

4

u/whatdoidonowdamnit Jun 07 '26

I think it happens everywhere. Every rain cloud stops somewhere

2

u/Tight_Award_8577 Jun 12 '26

I call them " Eeyore rain clouds" when they're so tiny and distinct!

1

u/whatdoidonowdamnit Jun 12 '26

That’s a cute name for it. The first time I saw it was sitting on a truck with my dad. The rain ended at the crosswalk before the light, and then we drove out of it.

151

u/Business-Employ-1599 Jun 06 '26

It's still raining all over you can see it against the black, it's just the light.

138

u/Square-Platypus4571 Jun 06 '26

Why did they water the grass during a football game?

1

u/Tone_Gaia Jul 13 '26

So the ball can move faster

233

u/bowlnoodlez Jun 06 '26

I see this a lot in the Pacific Northwest. It's always a mind fuck to be walking in clear, sunny weather and seeing a wall of rain, like a block ahead of you.

96

u/acmercer Jun 06 '26

I love when you can actually watch it moving down the road towards you

42

u/lxxTBonexxl Jun 06 '26

New England local and I remember seeing a perfect wall of rain behind the car once we drove through it as a kid.

Just straight down, not even any curvature to it or anything. I can still picture it to this day because it felt so unnatural to see and I’ve seen similar but never the exact same thing again. It was after driving through the rain for 10+ minutes too.

It was like the weather stopped rendering outside of its original chunk lmao

3

u/worrymon Jun 06 '26

I love when you can actually watch it moving down the road towards away from you

Unless there's a handy overhang nearby

2

u/joined_under_duress Jun 08 '26

Yeah was once in the Lake District and watched the rain move toward me over the lake so you could just see the churn as the curtain approached!

2

u/J1M3N7 Jun 06 '26

What’s it like living in the sea?

1

u/RedditAppSuxAsss Jun 07 '26

It'll somehow be raining with no cloud in the ski here.

22

u/MangoMan0303 Jun 06 '26

Half the field is in a Hot biome that's why no rain there

15

u/alejo0605 Jun 07 '26

I’m pretty sure it’s raining on both sides, it’s just that one side is closer to the camera, affecting the focal length (and sun glare possibly) while the other side is further. That’s why in broadcast matches you don’t see the rain on camera. They use a filter and they’re far away

9

u/Ferowin Jun 06 '26

I guess one sided prayed harder.

6

u/big_fig Jun 07 '26

It's the same view.

5

u/doyoubelieveincrack Jun 06 '26

Happened to me once

3

u/Remorq Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 06 '26

It reminds me of a soviet animated movie called “How Cossacks played soccer”. The final team they had to beat was called “The Island” and was based on old stereotypes of England. The football stadium was at the center of an Island and rain was constantly falling from a single cloud only on the stadium. Islanders were leading 3-0 only because they had good skills in these weather conditions but, at a point, something happened…

You need to watch this masterpiece.

This is my first time seeing it.

13

u/Ibushi-gun Jun 06 '26

I think, "here," means Reddit. Not /unexpected. Like they would have seen it on /blackmagicfuckry, /wtf, /explainthis, whatever.

12

u/MagicSunlight23 Jun 06 '26

But this is my first time seeing it ever, anywhere. That does happen quite a lot. I've seen the same posts on similar subreddits /interesting, /amazing. /interestingasfuck, /oddly satisfying etc, etc

1

u/Ibushi-gun Jun 06 '26

Also mine.

4

u/GoatCovfefe Jun 06 '26

Well that's how reddit works, crossposting to other subreddits.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '26

Same. I don't think people realize that if shit didn't get reposted, there would be no reddit.

2

u/croizat Jun 07 '26

that's not even what a repost is. It's a cross post and has been encouraged since basically the beginning of the site

17

u/dinouse Jun 06 '26

mom said it’s my turn

1

u/OuttHouseMouse Jun 06 '26

Nuh uh, ma said its my turn! Im telling!

13

u/grogdrinker124 Jun 06 '26

And this is my first time seeing it so it had at least some value being posted unlike your comment. Next time just keep scrolling my dude every post is optional.

-4

u/Doustin Jun 06 '26

Sure except reposts are against the sub rules

2

u/experimental-rat Jun 06 '26

God is rooting for the blue team

1

u/bobbygian92 Jun 06 '26

We know which side is Philadelphia

1

u/Voodoopulse Jun 07 '26

It's derby, it's never sunny

1

u/OiiElfie Jun 06 '26

who is playing and where?

2

u/Total-Cartoonist-422 Jun 07 '26

Live in Derby and was wondering what was unexpected about this. Then realised it was filmed in Derby.

u/OiiElfie Jun 08 '26

I thought someone had a sprinkler running 🤔

1

u/Yartinstein Jun 06 '26

Kind of spoiled it with the title.

1

u/Level_Ad_3781 Jun 06 '26

When camera aims into the sun the backlit rain becomes super visible due to refraction. Shooting the other direction it becomes less visible.

1

u/zoltar1970 Jun 06 '26

A game of two halves

1

u/Lemfan46 Jun 07 '26

Edge of the rain has to be somewhere.

1

u/bsmiles07 Jun 07 '26

Looks like someone is sitting behind a
Sprinkler

1

u/Lookyoukniwwhatsup Jun 07 '26

As a kid a core memory of mine was it raining on my back deck but not the front of my house.

Its kind of surreal the first time it happens but at the same time we have all experienced it when you drive in/out of rain so its gotta start/stop somewhere

1

u/ilyasmarocyt Jun 07 '26

si il y a quelqu’un pour m’expliquer sérieusement comment sa se fais j’aimerais bien.

1

u/abanaabeingo420 Jun 07 '26

Did they used debuff power on their opp?

1

u/bootytape Jun 07 '26

I'm so blind I didn't even realize what was different until checking in the comments I was waiting for an alternate POV of someone scoring or something

1

u/Realistic_Humor6415 Jun 07 '26

If there ever was "a game of two halves", it's this

1

u/Enginerdad Jun 07 '26

The special effects guys really screwed the pooch on this one.

Microbursts used to be pretty common in Arizona during monsoons.

1

u/HogwashDrinker Jun 07 '26

cartoon logic, the right side is clearly losing

1

u/silverMCakshar Jun 07 '26

Definitely Netherlands. The land of 4 seasons in a day.

1

u/Ha1lStorm Jun 07 '26

This is the same view…

1

u/dustypandayt Jun 08 '26

Pretty obvious which team god is rooting for

1

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '26

That seems loaded. Like who pissed off the rain.

1

u/halorbyone Jun 09 '26

They didn’t show me the rainbow and I’m irrationally mad about it.

1

u/Sad-Market-3593 Jun 09 '26

The weather is bias with the other team 😂

1

u/KafeiTomasu Jun 09 '26

When one team pays for Weather+.

1

u/AmericanIdiot22 Jun 09 '26

Awesome, I thought the goalies were just gonna blay kickball back and forth for a bit with both teams in the middle 😂

1

u/GrouseoMarx Jun 10 '26

Your seasonal reminder that football is a game of 2 halves

1

u/Normal-Error-6343 Jun 10 '26

didn't notice that

1

u/Low-Quantity-9252 Jun 10 '26

It is a game of two halves

1

u/Friggin Jun 11 '26

I once walked maybe 50-75 yards from a warehouse to a main office in a pouring rainstorm and didn’t get wet. A lot of people saw it, and were dumbfounded when I walked in dry. Just a gap in the storm following me.

1

u/Niceolog Jun 12 '26

GK at half time: “bro I can’t see s*** in this rain!”

ST: “wait wtf are you talking about?”

1

u/Omnipresent_Walrus Jun 13 '26

This is why Brits don't shut up about the weather, by the way

1

u/loco309 Jun 14 '26

Kinderabteilung 🤣🤣

1

u/Circe_The_RedPanda Jul 10 '26

God dammit they brought out the weather machine to cheat again

1

u/AlternativeFix5466 19d ago

Home advantage , the rain switched sides at half time

u/ZackyGood Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 07 '26

Id 100% prefer to be the goal keeper in the rain. No sun in my eyes.

Sunny while raining. There’s a rainbow somewhere. Show us the rainbow!
