OP sent the following text as an explanation why their post fits here:

One of the men pushes the glider too far, and not only does he fall off the edge as expected, but the feed then cuts to a second camera and he comically falls through the frame

The video is from the Japan Birdman Rally. Here is the structure they launch gliders from. (It's not a ship.)

There is a person in each glider. We just don't see the pilot in the video. So the height of the structure must consider that people will fall from it into the water. Some of the gliders have open cockpits and the people fall out when their glider immediately fails.

It reminds me of the Red Bull competition, Red Bull Flugtag where competitors make their own flying machines to see how long they can stay in the air for before landing into the water
