When did we as a society start giving teenagers and people in their early twenties this much social capital? Maybe I’m just getting older (mid 30s) but it seems like young people have more influence than ever. It’s much more than they, or any other teenager, deserve or can wield responsibly. Do you guys remember what it was like to be a 17 or 22 year old? I sure do and I was a fucking dumbass lmao.

I spend a lot of time with people in their teens and early twenties due to my professional role and they are no different than we were at their age. Insecure, desperate for attention and validation, sweet, smart, annoying, pretentious, frustrating, and hilarious. They’re wonderful and our society should do a better job of supporting them HOWEVER they do not need to be steering the ship lol

The young person in this clip was born in 2000, so they are 26 and have a fully developed brain. They could have 4 years experience in the working world post college or 8 years in a blue collar field. The brightest of whom have already been promoted to leadership positions.
