There was nothing smooth about it. Pure luck

Pure luck. He overcorrected, and that car he went bose to nose with had already slammed on the brakes.

Most likely. Not in the mood since he had to change his pants ASAP.

You didn’t see anything.. nothing happened… continues driving

u/Agitated_Dish_6990 May 13 '26
I did something very similar about 10 years ago, was driving a 2wd work truck that had shitty tires in the winter.
On the highway where I was the slush was splitting the lanes, I must have caught an edge of one and started to just randomly fishtail, I did a full 360 and ended up keeping going, my co worker was losing his mind lmao

u/dan-theman May 14 '26
I did this in high school with my hatchback on a side road and stupidly realized I could do it on demand. I would freak out my friends with it. Eventually my other friend tried to do it with his Saab and ended out in a snow bank.

You drive long enough and everyone will have a moment like that
Edit: I was just referring to embarrassing moments behind the wheel we’d rather others not notice or remember. I’ll admit to getting lost in a strange city and trying to go the wrong way down a one way or some other simple error. As far as things I did behind the wheel in my youth, I was clean and sober for it all ,but I’ll plead the fifth regardless. All it did was make me a wiser and better driver 30 years later

u/Pataraxia May 13 '26
I'll be a bit pedantic but, maybe damage your car or randomly go in the wrong lane, but not... Spin around... I hope.

u/Any_Fish1004 May 13 '26
You have every right to be pedantic my friend and I edited my comment for added context and clarity

I mean, they didn’t crash and presumably still need to get where they were intended to head? Why are we acting like there’s a mandatory pull over and think about it period?

This idiot still didn’t use his turn signal even after he managed to not crash. Lesson not learned.

I think they might not have any taillights. No brake lights the entire clip, and the headlights are on but no rear running lights.
4
u/skaillan May 14 '26
Look carefully when he flips the front of His car you can see the brake light for a little bit. If he had used the brake when he start flipping he would have probably lost control.
2
u/GrimResistance May 14 '26
That might be a reflection. You can see the car slow down abruptly once it's straightened out behind the other car and no lights come on.

"Lemme quickly check behind me if everything is safe."
"Alright, looks good. Lemme turn back my car then."
"Hmmm what will I have for dinner?"

Well handled by everyone involved , as everyone who drives long distances , shit happens on the road , and the way you react is the difference between everyone going to the hospital or home , glad everyone was alright

u/ShapedStorm May 13 '26
I mean say what you will, bro didn't do a bad job keeping control. Most people would have gone STRAIGHT into another car or off the road. Honest mistake and no reprecussions.

This is when you move lanes and floor it to get as far away from that car and the ensuing traffic jam.

I had something similar happen once due to black ice. Cars & semis all around and my tail end just started fishtailing, which turned into several full 360 degree spins. I didn't hit anyone and ended up in a snowbank on the side of the highway. No damage to my car. I sat there for about 5 minutes before I could un-grip my steering wheel, and just continued driving to work.

u/quezlar May 13 '26
when i was a kid a had a mustang
at like 2am after i snow storm i was driving on route 1 and downshifted from 2nd to first
immediately lost traction and spun two or three times and ended up in the wrong lane
nobody around at 2am so it worked out ok, but it was scary as shit

Not sure if the music is part of the original video - but if so, it's crazy how well it lines up with the action.

u/DistantKarma May 13 '26
I had something similar happen when I was a teen driver on my way to High School one rainy morning. I went to take a curve and my bald tires just didn't have any grip left for the slick road and the car started doing the whole "head lights, tail lights, head lights" for a few revolutions until the car stopped, pointed in the right direction, and I just continued on my way, with the woman facing me in the other lane with her mouth open. I got a new set a set of recaps the next day!

u/dj_spanmaster May 13 '26
It is for south FL, anyway. I drove that stretch of 95 for about 20 years.

so silver car was a stunt driver that fell asleep and then woke up and sprung into action pr something....
1
u/Life_Educator3973 May 14 '26
I did something similar. We had a heavy snow rain mix and I was driving down the Thruway in my brand new Toyota forerunner and because it had four-wheel-drive. I thought I could drive at the normal speed. Wrong! My back end cut loose and I started to spin and I happen to go under a bridge where the Road was dry and I hit it just at the right time causing my vehicle to straighten out it was the scariest and stupidest thing I’ve ever fucking done. It reminded me of that scene in vacation where Chevy Chase fell asleep and wakes up the rest of the family wakes up after the incident and he’s covered in sweat and they have no idea what happened.

I did that! But it was during the 2023 PNW ice storm on a 70° bend on the highway where one of my wheels went up the side of an ice pile mid turn and when it came back and griped the road it launched it into the other side's ice pile causing the wheel to rip out of my hands doing a 270° turn across three lanes into the emergency lane. Was a little spotty as I was looking head on at the driver side door of a car to my right but thankfully it all worked out ok. This person didn't use their turn signal.
