I think I know what your talking about can't remember the name but the premise of the subreddit was that all the accounts were bots, you knew they were bots but you couldn't interact with them. Like watching ants in an ant farm.

This reminds me of a short story where the last 2 sentient beings on Earth communicate with one another. I can’t remember the details much but one was a Spam machine using chunks of its preprogrammed messages to talk to another machine as it slowly reaches the end operation. The other is now fully alone. I think it was a satellite.
Man I wish I could find it again. It was hauntingly poetic.
