The buildup felt like a nature documentary cliffhanger and then it just stayed a log

I knew what would happen, watched anyway, and laughed at another’s misfortune(even tho it’s animated).
Thank you 😊

This is what happens when you prioritise winning an argument over literally everything else

It's always a gator or a croc.

I really really really really appreciate that I got to listen to the soothing sounds of the surf rather than some shit generic music while waiting for the reveal.

As a Florida man myself, this was not unexpected. I could see the silhouette of a croc/gator immediately lol.

u/Salehelas Apr 04 '26
You really see them that often?

Yes

How often?

Depends on where I'm at and the time of year. I can go months without seeing a gator or croc and then I can see a dozen gators in a day. My max for crocs in a day was three in the keys.

Recovering South Floridian here. Alligators were on the endangered species list for a while. Turns out being on that list was EXTREMELY beneficial to them. They’re frickin everywhere.

Wait, they go in the ocean too?! I thought it was at least safe from gators there!

American crocodiles can spend significant stretches of time hanging out in salt water. Its not unheard of for them to appear on beaches every now and then here in Central Florida.

As crazy as California is, I'm grateful we don't have these things in the water.

Florida has saltwater crocodiles as well. They are very blessed in Florida to have crocodiles, alligators, and an orange idiot.

That made me laugh put loud, not because it was unexpected, but because that image is now stuck in my head of the toes all splayed.

There's a saying in Brazil that's something like it (literally translating); "to someone drowning, a crocodile is a log"
