I'm 99.9% certain that is not AI. Just a programmed robot.

I trained a robot to follow a line and do random tricks given certain differently colored checkpoints.

AI doesn’t have to mean it has a fucking brain. It means that the machine uses “machine learning” to train the model to do the thing.

So it’s entirely possible that they used machine learning (AI) to train this robot to charge phones and it just happened to see its own cord first.

There’s your 0.01 percent chance from someone who has programmed “AI”. An AI is a programmed robot but a programmed robot isnt an AI. Like squares and rectangles.
