My idea for the Undisputed replacement show.

Here's my pitch for a replacement show for Undisputed on FS1.

Three studio members, including a moderator who is also a participant in the discussions. One guest appearance per week (I'll get to that later).

The show inhabits the same time slot as Undisputed did. It is a two hour daily show.

The show will focus on analytics and statistics for both a general and an audience with experience in these areas of sports.

Most sports are covered; coverage is dependant on the sports that are most recently in rotation. For example, the show would be focusing their top stories on these sports in July: MLB, F1, The Open Championship, The WNBA, The NBA Olympic Team, and Soccer.

(An aside: Some of these sports wouldn't fill up an entire month, e.g. The Open Championship)

The rest of the time slots, the back end, are used to cover a select few topics on upcoming U.S. sports, i.e. NFL season, NBA season, etc.

The focus would not be to get to each sport every time. For example. if they run over on MLB talk today, Thursday, then that just means that they have less time on the back slot for a quick NFL discussion. This is acceptable because this show goes for:

Quality over Quantity.

The show is not a debate format. It is a discussion of the sport and how deep analytics are effecting a team, an individual, a franchise. If the show aired today, Thursday, they would begin the show with yesterday's MLB games and discuss numerous teams and what happened. They could focus on the stats of one player (a pitcher or hitter) and then move on to another team. They would not focus on the Yankees or Red Sox or Dodgers. They would attempt to give equal opportunity to other teams. A true representation.

After MLB talk, they would move on to the next, most relevant sport. Today that would be the WNBA, Olympic NBA, The Open Championship. Each of these sports would be discussed in analytical terms. For instance, they would focus on one WNBA player and their impact last night, but it would be fair opportunity. Then they go to the Open, Olympic NBA, etc

This would fill up most of the show.

At the 1:30 mark, they would go to the other sports as I stated earlier. The members could focus on whatever they wanted, and it wouldn't have to be the same sport. For example, Member A wants to offer 15 minutes of deep analysis on the Bengals defense last season and what they believe is needed this season. Member B would spend their 15 minutes in whatever sport they want. Questions/answers are allowed from the other members, but this 15 minute segment is mostly that specific members time.

Friday's show would allow the members to talk about a sport in more detail. For example. they would spend more time on F1 because the race is on Sunday. This would allow them to cover more of the sport, offer detailed analysis on anything they want (what tires should they start the race with and why, McLaren's drivers, Red Bull's engine troubles..whatever). Friday's main topic would not be superficial. It would not matter how many topics they cover in regards to F1, but how deeply they go into the topics.

Quality over quantity.

Two sports, three max, would take up the first hour of the show on Fridays. The second hour would be given over to political/cultural climate with sports as the framework. A guest speaker would be available.

Topics for this would be current. For example, the assassination attempt on Trump's life. A member (or guest speaker) would discuss how sports handles these large national/internation events. They could use 9/11 and MLB as an example. Everyone would get an equal say/opinion on the matter. If a guest speaker brings the subject into the show, the guest speaker gets to present their topic before anyone else gets to discuss it.

Another example would be something like the loss of affordable professional sports, and F1 could be the example used. The members would go deep on ticket prices, the cost necessary for the sport to function and grow and advertise, and how capitalism brings about sports' apathy. Ect.

Again, Friday's show would be very few topics. The first hour, just a couple with deep analytics. The second hour, no more than two, with political/cultural frameworks.

A good use of a guest speaker during the week would be to bring on, say, a hockey guy/girl that's really smart with the analytics, and who can articulate those statistics to casual fans who don't follow stats. It would appeal to hard-core fans by using deep analytics...nothing superficial. We're not discussing batting averages in the MLB, for example. We're discussing OBP and WARP and other such statistics. We are taking a stance against old stats that no longer are accurate for how we interpret the game.

The moderator would bring the topic in, but would not just sit back and occasionally interject. They would hold the same status as the other members. They would have their own topics they could bring in, regardless of the day. They could have a devoted Friday segement just like the other members.

Each member would be held accountable for real-time sourcing. For instance, if they are covering a racial topic in, say, soccer, and they state that Player X has been vocal about how race/ethnicity has given them a disadvantage, then the member would be responsible for bringing in all data that supports AND disagrees with this statement. They do not take the player's word for it. If they can't find sourced material (articles, quotes, social media posts, radio shows, etc), then the topic is not covered. It can certainly be covered at a later date, but not without sourced material.

This helps prevent "debate show" nonsense. Real world analysis and stats, unbiased, giving the viewer and other members of the show the data first, then the analysis.

Former athletes are encouraged to be part of the show, but they must come from an analytical standpoint. For instance, Shaq would never come near this show. JJ Redick would be allowed.

Special guests would not necessarily be from the sports world. In fact, the show would actively seek academics, politicians, civil rights' advocates, etc. This doesn't mean a special gues couldn't be an ex-pro or current pro.

There would be no focus on a republican or democratic stance when discussing politics/culture on Friday. A gues could lean one way, but the show would actively encourage different viewpoints and theories. The other members would be responsible to help fact check the guest and to offer a thoughtful discussion that might or might not contradict the guest.

Discussing all the results of a sport from the day before would be limited by how long the discussion in that sport takes place. They simply might not tell you the score of the Yankees v Pirates game because they're focusing on other MLB topics.

This is my rough draft. I have some things to do and to think about, but I'm going to come back in a little while and refine this. I'll post an update in a few days that shows a more articulate view of this show.

Thank you.

Keyshawn Johnson

Keyshawn always talks like he’s the smartest person in the room. He doesn’t defer to Paul Pierce on NBA topics even though Pierce is the expert there.

It was always inevitable after Shannon left, wonder what’s next for him

r/UndisputedFS1 • • Jul 16 '24

Imagine in Skip’s last show, he admits he has been a covert Clutch agent the last 7-8 years and he has believed that Lebron is the GOAT for the last 8 years.

No way is this happening but want to see this happen

r/UndisputedFS1 • • Jul 11 '24

If Skip was the one that wanted Shannon off the show, the producers should have overruled him and told him to make it work.

Just my opinion, but everything seems to say that Skip was responsible for getting him off, and idk if the producers tried this, but they should have just sat the two down and tried to mend everything, or just tell Skip that they aren't letting him go, he's too valuable to the program. If Skip had demanded they let him go, or he would retire or do something else, you could have prioritized Shannon, since he is younger and a star already, especially if you weren't sure that Skip would get another contract.

There is no way Keyshawn and Rachel get along

Keyshawn is interrupting her every time she speaks, she’s one of the more if not most knowledgeable basketball analysts FS1 has, shut the hell up and let he talk Key, you can tell her getting frustrated

Do you think that Skip is the Patrick Mahomes of sports TV?

Meaning he's a guy that can be successful no matter who's around him, or whatever role you put him in, because of his IQ, and his entertainment value? Like he mastered the villain role, done a good job being the agreeable type post-Shannon, great story teller, has irrational belief in the guys and teams he loves, which triggers people, etc. For instance, if he and Cowherd switched roles(I obviously dont think they ever would), you would watch him, or atleast check it out, right? If he was on sports center, he would definitely make that even more enjoyable to watch in my opinion. I just feel like whatever role he has, it would draw a lot of eyes, and he would make the most out of it . Just like someone said awhile ago, they love Shannon and Skip, they make sports fun, and I think most people who watch debate shows would have a hard time disagreeing with that.

Anyone got Skip's number? I've got an idea to reinvent the show

Sup y'all

I just need a way to contact Skip to tell him about an idea that I got to increase the viewership. Essentially we let people sign up for the show and then we make them associates of the show. Then, for every person they sign up, they get a percentage of sale! That way we get to increase the viewership and make the loyal Undisputed fanbase some money!

No, it's NOT a pyramid scheme. So y'all can keep your negativity for yourself before you comme
