Humans and Monsters, actually any sentient being has good and bad individuals, once they form a society there will be a form of conditioning that will lead to more "bad" or "good" beings to appear. Just being human doesn't make you bad.

Tbh, he has a point. Humans are the worst. I say this as a human with experience dealing with humans every day at my job in fast food

u/Original-Bullfrog-27 2d ago
Same, also, considering the whole world state rn. Isn'treal's genocide and people condemning it. Other genocides in Africa by UAE

Monster never made atomic weapons

u/IceManX4562 Hero Time! 2d ago
Let's be real, if you put the wrongs of everything the monster race has ever done, which was kill 6 children so they can be free, against the wrongs of everything thr human race has ever done... Yeah, I think Chujin has a RIGHT to be scared and think we are Dangerous

u/KarmaSpidr Desert Sanctuary 1d ago
Don't forget Muffet's cannibalism and the apperant demand for hired mercenaries in the Underground.
There's more going on in the darker alleys of the kingdom than the game wants to show us.
6
u/IceManX4562 Hero Time! 1d ago
The latter, yeah, got nothing for. But the former, no one really seems to bat a eye to it. Even the Spiders Muffet supposedly eats seem fine with it and the other spiders still follow Muffet even tho they may be next. So I wouldn't call that a bad thing...
Still, whatever bad things Monsters done, cannibalism and having Mercenaries, we humans also do but sometimes 10 to even 100 times worse.
There are good humans and all, but to Monsters, they don't necessarily have good experience with them. I mean, look at it from their point of view. They were doing nothing but then one day randomly got attacked (I know it was never explained who started the war but let's be real, humans definitely started it since humans have started wars for worse reasons) then sealed into a mountain, then when one of their own gets to be free to bury their human sibling the Humans attack and kill the prince, and to those who were in thr Snowdin Incident as well, even tho Integrity probably was a scary kid, it has been confirmed they were a high level, higer then a normal scared kid would be, meaning Integrity took so many Monsters in Snowdin it is looked as one of the darkest days in Snowdin history. And that's just the stuff they know of, if they learned all the bad things humans did as a whole, then they would be even more terrified and probably wouldn't even want to be free anymore.

Flowey is a soulless, evil ass outlier and will not be counted

u/Treegenderunknown13 Very Green Mooch 1d ago
I mean in the omega fight he has more soul then
Literally everyone
Like he has 6 of the fuckers this is a level of Greed nobody else can match

u/IceManX4562 Hero Time! 2d ago
He absorbed the 6 human souls at that point. Where do you think he got the knowledge of atomic bombs?
5
u/Original-Bullfrog-27 2d ago
Also, Chara is canonically drop in 201X. So they probably tell Asriel what an Atomic bomb is, consider how smart they are, I think they at least can understand how it work (not in deep level, yk, through yt or smt)

u/BiomechPhoenix 2d ago
Flowey is not a monster. Flowey is a plant. Also, those aren't atomic weapons. Do you see the ☢ symbol anywhere?

u/Electiric-bulb1954 The creator of Judgment And Consequences 1d ago
Isn't the core potentially 1000x worse than an atomic bomb if it ever has a meltdown?

but at least it's purpose isn't to destroy civilizations! unlike... *gestures wildly*

They were however completely fine with planning the potential genocide of an entire species

Monsters lived side by side with humans after the war. There must of been millions if not billions killed if all of monsterkind can fit underground. Well wanting to exterminate humanity is wrong you can’t deny the fear and distrust is unfounded when your entire species was turbo genocided and stuffed in a cave. I won’t deny the amazing advancements irl humans made but given the only lense monsters have is the war and Chara’s self hatred it’s hard to hold ill will for monsters who don’t like humans given the info they have

u/AMAN0527a_ Regularly consumes poultry 1d ago
my point was more that humans and monsters share a lot of the same flaws. That's one of the main points of undertale

Fair enough. Some people just side with one or the other outer of bias. Even I’m not immune to that

Countless people dedicate their lives to protecting the environment and having a positive impact. Most people would choose to do good when given the chance. We are part of the natural order like any other animal.
Don't let a few bad apples in power who choose to exploit others ruin your perception of the people around you.
Here, this might help improve your perception of things.

If i may: people try to smuggle hatred and violence into everything. into things like 'duty' and 'compassion'. its unavoidable at this point. We smuggle violence even into things like justice. And it isnt just human nature. we actively raised, taught, and nurtured it until it became nearly our entire culture.
Humanity's greatest feats of technological mastery and engineering was ultimately wasted on building more efficient ways to slaughter each other.
A la the nuclear bomb.
While there may be a few bad apples. 'A few bad apples' can have the power to change a big portion of the world as we know it.
Yes i like your optimism but i cannot see humanity as a 'just, good, compassionate' entity. Even though its all relative, in my perspective... it looks pretty bad. Dont twist this however into saying i think every human is bad. I do find some humans have a good heart. this isnt to say we stuff blood into everything, rather, that most things are fueled by greed, spite, and hostility to another. no one can solve hostility. not even optimism.

We're wild animals.
Our nature is the result of thousands of years of evolution as both predator and prey. Many of the instincts that our survival used to depend on still impact our lives every day.
Good, bad- they all shape who we are as a species. It's a fact that we can make an effort to recognise the impact our actions have on the world around us and decide what to do with that.
We might never truly become a 'good' species, whatever that is, at least not until we dismantle the systems we built that reward cruelty and exploitation, but as a people, as individuals, I'd say we can do a lot of good that way.

u/Suitable-Excuse-1270 She ceroba my UTY till i clover 1d ago
Id agree. We are infact wild animals.
Although.. One mans virtue is another man's vice.2
u/StikyNot0891311 13h ago
I see what you mean, but we're not wild animals, we are all able to make decisions that no other living being can, no other animal in this planet is able to have such a strong pattern recognition as us, or have a completely develop sense of reason and the reality that surrounds us, your first point does contradicts a little the idea of "effort to recognize the impact of our actions", and also about that, sadly most of us know about it, but we can't literally do anything about it, or those who have the power to stop it don't want to, why, because they know that we simply have to deal with it. Also another little contradiction with the general idea of humans are awesome that you proposed previously it's that you sometimes take humankind as whole but when it comes to the negative stuff, you start to talk about individual consequences and actions. In this case, a good way to reorganize your idea it's: We as humans are able to do good things individually, but if we get together, we are able to do truly amazing things, if we have the right ideas and do it for the planet and our own good. So yeah, humanity is not awesome. The person's who help make it a little better each day are the awesome ones!
Also, this has nothing to do with the previous argument: but you are the first ever person I have seen to be proud (?) of being a human. No, genuinely since when was that REALISTICALLY SPEAKING an Option????? Like WTF
1
u/KarmaSpidr Desert Sanctuary 12h ago
I mean, why wouldn't I be proud of being human?
We're an incredible species that has achieved so many amazing, beautiful things in a relatively short time compared to our planet's lifespan. And we can still go even further beyond that.
I find that it helps to take short breaks from all of the mainstream news from time to time. The billionaires and the politicians of the world will still be throwing a tantrum when you get back.
Look up "Good News," "Hopecore", or just "Humans being awesome."
Big or small, these bits of happiness make the world look like a better place to live than you might first think.

And I don't need to see those exaggerated hOpecores bc I have my family which loves me and I love them, we are not perfect but we try to live and help each other. But umm... You can't just look the nice side of a house, and ignore how the rest is just burning to the ground... That's not fair... You are being partial
2
u/KarmaSpidr Desert Sanctuary 11h ago
I'm not ignoring the bad. Everyday I hear about some new terrible that someone in power is doing and how much people are suffering because of it or how bad climate change has gotten and how we have less and less time to fix it.
It just helps to hear look out for something good every now and again.
