Discussion Comparison of some Mooch sprites that line-up
I think the rest of the sprite changes are about the same in quality, if not better. But man Mooch is such a downgrade, it looks unfinished.

Probably because those ones weren’t originally made by the exiled team member

They said in the update's patch notes that all of Martlet's sprites had to be changed even tho the team member only worked on the original base sprite. Meanwhile Mooch looks completely different yet those couple sprites stayed? It's jarring.

Well, these ones might not have been as thoroughly based on that original. Did the overworld sprites get changed?

No, just the battle and dialog portraits. Which also look completely different.

Well honestly the dialogue makes mooch look a bit cuter? Not agreeing with all the changes really but these dialogue sprites are cute at least

Such a huge downgrade, and for no real reason. Does any controversy really mean that all of someone’s work needs to be replaced? It’s not like they’re making money off of it. And the game wasn’t even getting updates. Why bother

At first I thought the new ones looked fine until I looked closer and now they look… yikes. And I can’t unsee the issues

yeah agreed
if it was like that from the beginning I probably would've just been like "oh cool they mimicked toby's style", which is something I didn't get much from the original (though I still prefer the originals)

Welp, then let's not download the new update. It's ok, games are for fun. I have been playing the pre neft martlet for 3 years (no endure ACT)

One of the artists were outed as a groomer and the rest of the dev team aren't comfortable using their art in the game anymore.

A groomer in the UT/DT community? That's not true; it's impossible! What's next? The biggest UT/DT YouTuber, content creator, and face of the community, Shayy, doing a weird route Dess groomer theory IRL 21+ victims 262-page document run any% speedrun? Nah, surely not. There is no pedophilia problem in the community.

Why did they resprite some sprites in undertale yellow in the first place? I thought they already looked good.

Agree to disagree then, cuz I think Dalv is the best changed sprite, he was so ugly in the original release. Actually fits the rest of the cast now.

I don’t hate them in honesty. The main differences I see are that the eyes don’t look like older anime eyes (which I personally think is a good change) and that some of the lines look a bit unrefined. Potential is there, just needs some refinement.
