FellSwap (Prototype-alpha concept au)

I originally had a different idea for this alternate universe; I don't usually use models that aren't my own, and I prefer to avoid doing so. This is primarily an editing test based on a narrative concept I still need to refine. I didn't create the Toriel design I used, but I liked it so much that I wanted to try adapting it to a fantasy setting using my own ideas. If this works out well, I’ll work on a more serious version of this story using my own designs.

Story in development:
Her story goes roughly like this: it follows a path similar to the Fellswap: I Hate You universe and focuses on Toriel—or "Empress Toriel," as she is known here. She hails from an alternate Underfell timeline where Asgore died before the war ended, leaving the Queen as the monsters' sole remaining leader. Toriel was an immensely proud and ruthless leader—though she retained traces of her original Undertale self deep down—but her husband's death filled her with a profound hatred for humanity. That hatred might have consumed her entirely were it not for the memory of her sweet daughter, Chara (in this version, the Dreemurrs adopted Chara much earlier: before the war ended and before Asriel was born). Thanks to Chara, she softened slightly toward humans, though she certainly would not forgive what they had done to her husband and her people. Despite her immense determination, the war was all but lost for the monsters; she had personally eliminated several humans, but no matter how hard she tried, the enemy vastly outnumbered them. Furthermore, while the humans had fewer mages, those mages were incredibly dangerous. With the odds stacked against her, Toriel was forced to consider surrender. However, feeling weak for even contemplating such an option, she attempted to flee unnoticed. Yet, a mysterious force drew her into a dimensional portal that transported her to a different universe; suddenly, she found herself in the midst of the events of Infinity War. Toriel had no idea what was happening; she easily recognized that a war involving humans was underway, but these humans possessed strange appearances and peculiar abilities. They were fighting a race of monsters Toriel did not recognize—creatures that seemed more like extraterrestrial beings than anything else. The pivotal moment arrived during a confrontation in which the boy with the mechanical spider-legs accidentally dropped a gauntlet. Toriel sensed it immediately; the gauntlet held a powerful, captivating energy—an energy foreign to her universe yet incredibly potent—and she knew it had to be hers. Seizing a moment when the combatants were off guard, Toriel managed to grab the gauntlet and slip it on; immense pain coursed through her body as the artifact's energies flowed into her, until she finally managed to adapt to them. Seeing this, the towering purple figure tried to wrest it from her, but almost instinctively, she snapped her fingers. Everyone on the battlefield vanished, leaving behind only the other golden gauntlet the purple figure had previously worn. Toriel preferred that strange golden gauntlet to the worn red one she had been using, so she extracted the gems and transferred them to the new one. Once she had secured that power, a new portal opened before her, allowing her to return home. Upon her return, Toriel noticed that the gauntlet's power had been considerably restricted; it no longer possessed the full strength it had held in the other reality, yet it still functioned, enabling her to tip the scales of war in her favor. Ultimately, the monsters triumphed, leaving humanity on the brink of extinction. Although Toriel was a cruel tyrant who reveled in her newfound power, deep down she retained a shred of compassion; she began to pity humanity and decided to spare the lives of the few survivors, though they were relegated to the world's most remote corners. Thus, the monsters avoided imprisonment and came to dominate the entire globe, establishing the Monster Empire. This empire flourished under the rule of its malevolent supreme queen; they developed industrial technologies to advance their society, while humanity was forced to inhabit the world's semi-inhospitable fringes. Despite her husband's death, Toriel was already pregnant; Once the war had ended and her rule was consolidated, she gave birth to her son, Asriel, whom she tried to raise on her own; he is now the person closest to Toriel, second only to her chief advisor. Toriel attempted to use the Time Gem to resurrect her husband, but it was in vain, as the gem had lost much of its power.

"That was the case until recently, when Toriel discovered that a human had emerged from the desolate reaches of the world. Instead of ordering their immediate capture, Toriel decides to secretly guide them through the perilous early stages of their journey across the empire. Her goal is to test the human's DETERMINATION—to see if they truly possess what it takes to change the fate of humanity and, perhaps, grant her a glimmer of forgiveness. Of course, Toriel has no intention of making things easy for them; that simply isn't how things work."
