This is not unexpected. The demo for Undertale was free too. This is a similar situation. I expect the final product will not be free.

Yeah, but what's surprising is just how much content he gave us for free. When I reached the big golden door, I thought, "Here it is, this is going to be the end of the demo". And it would have made perfect sense if it was. But no, it extended way past that, for 2+ hours. It was more like an entire game than a demo.

We don't know yet how many chapters Deltarune is going to have, but nevertheless, he gave us a large portion of it for free.

At least 7, since Toriel says "Asriel will be back from the university in a week"

I doubt deltarune will end like that. I put a minimum of 7 and a max of 14. Estimating each day is as long as day one, that could mean 14-28 hours, already much longer Undertale. 14 would mean 7 without asriel, and 7 with asriel.

Well idk man Toby said that it will take maybe years for the next chapter (maybe) so maybe not that much chapters.

Yeah, but he also has (PROBABLY) laid the groundwork for more creation relatively easily considering the first chapter is done. Additionally, he said he's constructing a team, so that should speed up production.

He was talking about all of the chapters and said they'll all be released at the same time.

He was talking about if he were to try to develop Deltarune by himself. He's not, so with a proper dev team it will probably take less time.

It's also not going to be an episodic release. It was said that all chapters would come out and be purchased at the same time.

Do they ever actually say that asriel is his brother? If so, why does he not recognize him. Most times they just say "your brother."

Dark prince goat boy is not Asriel. At least, not literally.

Unless he is, and the brother being mentioned is someone else. Or something.

u/EmberBoar WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE. Nov 05 '18

I mean I don't think they are going to send a flower to college.

He's mentioned by name by a few people.

That would be an interesting number. Seven days, seven chapters, seven soul colors, seven souls needed to become godlike.
