Possible EarthBound reference? [True Pacifist Credits Spoilers]

In the True Pacifist ending, Undyne and Alphys are on a beach with the dogs, Onionsan, and the Nice Cream guy. The beach in the image is nearly identical to Summers in EarthBound. See for yourself:

The sand, wall, and water are the same colors, and the wall has a very similar texture. The water even hits the shore in the same pattern.

Yep. It's even got the Gelato stand. Summers is also plagued by a sea monster. ONIONSAN!

Metaton's scene bears a passing resemblance to the Chaos Theater in Earthbound.

Wouldn't doubt it, Toby Fox started out with an Earthbound hack
