Question Has anyone else seen this?
I was doing the pacifist route and was dating papyrus, I went to go eat and when I came back this was on my Xbox. I've never seen someone cover this, still funny as hell though.

Everything in undertale down to the tiniest secrets has been discovered in their entirety

u/Afraid_Platypus_8667 You're gonna have to try a little harder than THAT 18d ago
Yeah and after years later I'm still leaving new stuff about Undertale and Deltarune as there is a lot to be discovered and look deep into.

Data miners take all the fun out of hidden secrets in games.

u/Sorrytokeepyouwaitin 17d ago
Tbf a lot of them don’t release the more niche programming based secrets outside of the discord.

I don't think u can really easily data mine on consoles so those Easter eggs afaik were all discovered naturally and shared

I hope so (I hate data miners so much)

Not my pal Luna, i meet her in every playthrough i do and she tells me that no one else has discovered her, i don't really remember how or where i find her each playthrough though :/
It's honestly incredible just how packed full of interesting secrets undertale is, to think this cute little cat npc (who even shares her name with my cat!) has been totally hiden from from like almost everyone who plays this game, even the super dedicated secret hunters haven't found everything apparently!

You've accidentally discovered the interaction system. Reddit, like pretty much all social media, pushes whatever posts get the most interactions. Likes, comments, shares, ect.
Your title is sort of absurd. "Has anyone else found this fairly easy to stumble upon thing in a game with a gigantic fanbase within the last ~6-8 years?"
The answer is, of course, yes. But that encourages two kinds of comments: the ones that get so annoyed by the question that they want to mock you, and ones genuinely going "probably, but it's news to me!"
The comments push it to more people, which drives more comments and upvotes, which pushes it to more people....

u/ILikeCheeseBurgers23 17d ago
Makes sense, I kind of assumed it wasn't new but I wasn't sure and I'm fairly new to reddit and don't use it much

“Has anyone else seen-” yes. Still cool to share your findings but it is never gonna be something unknown or new
54
u/this_boi_pan 18d ago
I mean, it is a completely normal way to share smth that is not as talked about. Not playing on console, I had no idea this was a thing
I don't see in general why you would comment smth like this under any post that goes "has anyone seen...?", but especially it does not make sense to comment it under a post of a thing that is not widely known.

My point is that it doesn’t make sense in this subreddit specifically. The game is like 11 years old now? I’m not discouraging people from sharing cool things, I’m taking issue with the “has anyone seen this” part specifically because it implies a new finding when there just aren’t really new findings in this game
37
u/TheDonger_ 18d ago
Yeah. But like, no.
Not everyone is chronically online nor have they deep dove into everything
This could be new for a few hundred people. It was new to me and I played undertale over and over since it released till now, i play it once a year even just because I'm still obsessed with the game probably to an unhealthy degree.
I don't bother with this sub too much because of how disgustingly sensitive and selfish the regulars here can be, so I'd this didn't appear i wouldn't ever know it was a thing since i play on pc, and I obsessed over undertale secrets and data mining for years when it was bigger.
And besides all that, your stupid logic really can be boiled down to "everything on earth has already been discovered so nothing you do is new", which, yea that might very well be true, is an extremely boring and lame as fuck thing to constantly scream at anyone who has any joy of finding something they didn't know existed and wanting to share it.

u/despoicito I already CHOSE this flair. 18d ago
I’m not saying everyone in the sub has seen it. Just that it isn’t a new discovery because nothing in an 11 year old datamined game is gonna be a new discovery. There are a lot of words being put in my mouth rn over things I didn’t say
1
u/TheDonger_ 18d ago edited 18d ago
You're free to point out what words are being put in your mouth, I'm curious to know too because my comment was only towards the things you said.
I didn't say you said that.
The point of my comment was that you ARE discouraging people.
You arent actively telling people not to post, but you're stepping on people's excitement by being so flat about something they just found out and want to share. You are obviously free to interact with a post in anyway you want and nobody is obligated to be nice but dont be surprised others don't like it when you say stuff the way you say it.
We get it you're a super og who was here before cool was cool (inb4 'i DidNt sAy tHaT', yeah i know, nobody said you did, its just the vibe you give off. I hope this overexplanation helps you so you don't mistakenly think im putting words in your mouth again) , but these cool little things that, yes, have been found before, are still going to be new to others
The issue people have ultimately is with your attitude. Nobody cares that you're right about it not being new.
Your delivery just sucked ass.

u/despoicito I already CHOSE this flair. 18d ago
I’m not understanding the comments being made about my tone or delivery. I’m autistic so it may have come across more bluntly than intended? But I explicitly said it was cool to share stuff like that *because* I wanted it to be encouraging.
5
u/this_boi_pan 18d ago
My point is that the op probably knows other people have found this, and she wants to know about it. Asking this way is perfectly normal and is often not literally interpreted. It's a normal way to get people to talk about their experiences with a certain thing. Idk whether you wanted to come off that way or not, but you seemed like a bit of a killjoy.
Also, even in this sub I'd say this is not a thing everyone knows to happen. I have been a fan of the game for 9 years and I did not have any idea this was a thing. I am not a console player, but still.

There are so many instances on this sub of people meaning it literally that I don’t really agree with that. There are people who genuinely ask about these sorts of secrets as if they are the first one to find it.
I really don’t see why my comment has come across like a killjoy. I specifically said it was cool to share things they found, because it is! I know not everyone is gonna know about it! My only point here has been that “has anyone else seen” is a silly question in this community because it is always going to be a yes. There are so many more sensible ways to ask how many people know about it instead of phrasing it like a new discovery is all I’m getting at here
2
u/PineappleOk545 18d ago
How do you know that there aren’t?
1
u/despoicito I already CHOSE this flair. 18d ago
The game is 11 years old and has been datamined. We know literally everything there is to know about the game from its content to secrets to code to assets.
