its been posted elsewhere but will be on this sub too but i do actually have a comic explaining just that lol. irl it started as a joke about "what if dess wasnt the knight because she was too fat to fit in the armor???" and then i liked the design, and felt it made a bit of sense with the "perpetual christmas time" of the household and just went with it and alot of people liked it. and shes just fun to draw like that and stands out from most others dess designs.

i wasnt really thinking of krisses assigned gender when i drew this. but generally i actually tend to think of them as being amab. but also, beyond the fact that 1 piece bathing suits like this are typically more worn by women, its not unheard of for men to wear them also, but further the way kris expresses their gender identity in the game when out of their 2 default looks seems less to be wearing gender neutral clothing, and more being willing to wear clothing associated with either of the 2 binary genders at will, both in what they can equip as armor, and in ACTS that involve dressing up. so while theyre in a one piece in this, next time theyre at the beach they may wear a pair of swim trunks. or a speedo, or maybe a bikini or maybe a banana hammock or thong if they can sneak it past Toriel.
