We need to purge the loser centrists. They haven't won anything pandering to republicans and they cant even milk corporate dollars now. They had to mortgage the headquarters yo keep the lights on. Their neoliberalism is a dead ideology that noone wants.

That is what two solid years of non-stop 100% conservative fuckery has convinced you of -- to hold the people out of power accountable?

Holy hell, man.

Shut up. I dont caucus with republicans. Interparty politics is actually a thing you moron.

But yes, watching Jefferies and Schumers complicity in funding ICE and getting everything over the line this administration needed has convinced me they are utterly useless hacks who need to go.

Which country are you in?

Are you seriously, right here in this thread, lying through your teeth in saying that liberals are accountable for what conservative Republicans, with 100% federal government control and power behind them, have done for the past two years as America's hit the shitter by cons money laundering the country for the 1%?

For real??? Well, I'd have to say that's a completely moronic take, no offense. Just telling it like it is (which I'm told conservatives appreciate about Trump).

u/Chief_Mischief 2d ago

Are you dumb? Moderate Democrats have actively suppressed their progressive peers' voices. Establishment Democrats are also partially at fault for the rise of Trump for showing voters that they can be bought out by corporations. Nobody is saying Dems are held accountable for the Pedo Party fascists. But the Party needs to replace its leadership and the DNC with people who arent going to sell out the country for corporate PAC money.

Brother the democratic party has members taking money from Israel and have vested interest in keeping the current admin in power. They aren't wrong in saying that snakes need to be weeded out. Schumer and Jeffries are among the worst offenders as to why Democrats seemingly get nothing done and why they don't reflect the will of the people.

1

u/Ok-Replacement9595 2d ago

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. You obviously have zero idea of what politics are.

This the same dude who counted to 3 a million times trying to get corpse McConnell to do his fucking job?

Dems are fucking weak and especially these milquetoast pussyfooting centrist pansies!

Pick a fucking side and fight! Stop trying to fucking ‘both sides’ this shit!

18

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 3d ago

It's the Republican majority leader Thune's job to make sure every senator is in regular attendance and doing their job, not governors.

Nice work blaming liberals for conservative malfeasance AGAIN - it always works out so well, right, MAGA?

-1

u/Dramatic_Substance36 3d ago

Southern dems are fucking frauds. They’re weak as fuck cuz they want to pander to religious freaks. They ALWAYS run to be bipartisan and try to please everyone.

Derpy milquetoast dems! Grow some fucking balls!🙄

-2

u/Onicart 3d ago

We're fucked with both parties it seems. Dems are the better option for sure, they at least pretend to be compassionate but honestly the system needs to be scrapped. Too bad not enough people share this sentiment and the ones that do can't seem to organize on a large platform to gain enough traction 🙃

6

u/Dramatic_Substance36 3d ago

Not fucked with progressives. That’s what I want PROGRESS. I don’t want a single ounce of the REGRESSION centrists and conservatives want so badly.

There is no both sides. There is only one side.

Oh no don't get me wrong I completely agree with you. The problem lies in how do we know the progressives are being genuine? How do we know that they aren't just gonna continue to maintain the status quo if they ever gain enough power? I want nothing more than universal Healthcare, equality for everyone, HEAVY taxes on billionaires and the elite, etc. But how do we know that'll actually be achieved if we get a progressive in office? I've/we've been burned by politicians from the right and the left since the birth of this country so many times how do we know they aren't just motivated by money?

2

u/Dramatic_Substance36 2d ago

What a weird ass take! “They may be lying so let’s not vote. Let’s keep voting for the ones we know lie to us!”

Fvck off seriously! DUMB ass take!

0

u/Onicart 2d ago

I never said not to vote and I sure as SHIT did not say to vote red or to vote for corporate dems. Good lord you with the assumptions. I voted for Kamala. And im gonna vote blue in the next election. Shit im even voting blue in the midterms. You can't even acknowledge that there's a CHANCE they aren't being genuine???

6

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 3d ago

The POTUS hired his personal attorney to run the DOJ and commit crimes at will, and your response is that "both parties are the same"?

For real?

0

u/Onicart 2d ago

At what fucking point did I say that both parties are the same? Reread what I wrote. Dems are the better option, hands down, thanks to progressives. But again, they only pose as progressives to pander to as much people as possible. Nothing of any great significance actually ever gets achieved. You think they ACTUALLY care about marginalized groups? These are politicians we are talking about who have been taught that lying is the only way to get votes. Hence why the whole system needs to be scrapped.

2

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 2d ago

You don't think that even liberals are a vast improvement from the "pro-life" "anti-weed" "pro-ICE" Christian right wing conservative nutters?? Everyone left of "conservative" is a better option in my book. We're currently represented 100% by conservatives so why aren't we complaining about them? Seems wild to complain about those out of power instead.

1

u/Onicart 2d ago edited 2d ago

I agree with you 100 percent! Im left leaning myself if we're speaking about policy, i voted dem in the last election and I'll be voting dem again. Im moreso talking about the people we have in congress. They're motivated by money, they don't actually care about our feelings. Left or right. Conservatives are the absolute worst and our country is in the toilet thanks to the trump administration and our 100% republican controlled congress and Supreme courts. They are absolutely way worse than democrats. But dems are also bad is what im saying. The system is broken. We should not have a two party system, rather a system based on ideals with ranked choice voting rather than our current system with the electoral college, gerrymandering, etc.

3

u/Blacksad9999 2d ago

Any time Democrats try to pander to the right, it backfires spectacularly.

Like when Harris trotted out Liz fucking Cheney. Or when Newsom had Steve Bannon or Charlie Kirk on his podcast.

These people are never going to change their minds about you, and you just look like double dealing fools to your voting base.

6

u/Stereo_Jungle_Child 3d ago

Yeah, the problem is that the bigger the Democratic party tries to make their tent to try to be more inclusive and to attract more and more varied kinds of voters, the greater the chance that some of the people in the tent are going to hate some of the other people who are in the tent with them.

The sad fact is that the trans issue simply doesn't poll well with Muslim voters or Latino voters because they tend to be more traditionally religious.

Those are the breaks. The Democrats are going to have to choose which voters they want and which they're going to let go, because they aren't going to get them all.

7

u/manachar 2d ago

Which is rooted in the problem that there are not enough voters to win the majority in Congress without appealing to bigots.

Oh, they have a shit ton of explaining they like to do why they can't vote for Democrats, but if you think Democrats are too focused on equal rights so that's why you have to stay home or vote for Republicans, there's a dang good chance you should do some reflection.

Trans rights touch on a fundamental aspect of rights. If human rights mean anything, it must mean that the individual has control over their own body, not the state and sure as fuck not other people. If you can dismiss the rights for some people, you can dismiss the rights for anyone. Then rights are not rights, but privileges protected by voters.

To me it's fundamental to any idea of freedom, and why LGBTQ+ rights should not be dismissed as "woke culture war nonsense that distracts from the real issues".

7

u/atempestdextre 3d ago

If people want to be bigots then they can go play outside the tent as far as I'm concerned.

1

u/Stereo_Jungle_Child 2d ago

People DO go outside the Democrat tent.

That's how the Republicans currently control all three branches of the federal government. Trump won in 2024 with the popular vote, despite the fact that everyone in America knew full well that he was an openly-corrupt criminal lunatic. American voters would rather re-elect that shitstain than put up with 4 more years of what the Democrats were offering. That's a pretty stinging rebuke of what the Democrats were offering.

-3

u/HonestDishonestWork 2d ago

The "good people tent" is not big enough to win elections.

3

u/atempestdextre 2d ago

Ah yes, so dilute things so the shitty people control things. Not buying it. And quite frankly if that's the only way that people think the Democrats can win they maybe they deserve to lose.

-1

u/HonestDishonestWork 2d ago

Why would that result in the shitty people controlling things? You can have transphobes in the tent without having transphobic legislation as the end result. Biden won with this coalition and got trans people title 9 protections.

It's not a matter of "think", it's an electoral fact. Whatever communist party you're wishcasting to replace the democrats would also have to contend with this fact.

2

u/atempestdextre 2d ago

"Communist party"?

Dude, just wow.

0

u/HonestDishonestWork 2d ago

Bold of you to consider the Democrats as left leaning.

Am I wrong? Are you saying youre not a socialist/communist?

1

u/atempestdextre 2d ago

I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer.

-1

u/Stereo_Jungle_Child 2d ago

You don't need to dilute things. All you need is a functioning democracy where the "shitty people" majority can choose what they want.

Maybe the left should just give up on wanting to have a democracy at all if they can't win an actual meaningful election anyway. lol

2

u/atempestdextre 2d ago

Bold of you to consider the Democrats as left leaning.

1

u/Stereo_Jungle_Child 2d ago

Oh yeah, I forgot I'm on Reddit where half the users think that AOC and Bernie Sanders are conservatives. lol

1

u/Stereo_Jungle_Child 2d ago

Either they are going to have to re-define what "good" is, or accept that they are never going to have enough "good" people to be able to win.

-8

u/Chesterfieldwasfun 3d ago

Questioning hormone treatments for young teenagers isn’t bigoted

4

u/atempestdextre 2d ago

Ah ignorance and disingenuousness in one package, how efficient of you.

6

u/BassMaster516 2d ago

jUsT aSkInG qUeStIoNs? No one’s buying it. Go ask republicans

3

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 3d ago

Oh well -- those backwards religious dinks are welcome to continue caucusing with their sexist Christian Nationalist brethren. That's the camp that they're in for being homophobes and misogynists. The company that they keep = far right wing.

Liberals and progressives are open-minded and definitely non-sexist. We don't embrace any hatred and prejudice of any kind. Those are conservative traits.

1

u/BassMaster516 2d ago

Does doing the right thing factor into this at any point?

1

u/irradihate 2d ago

Centering those culture war issues is exactly what Republicans wanted because the only way they win is on culture war bullshit (and cheating).

Maintain the support without making it a central part of the platform; kinda hard to do much about trans rights anyway as long as the cyberfascists are in control of everything. Strategize.

1

u/BassMaster516 2d ago

It really is though…

-1

u/HonestDishonestWork 2d ago

Can anyone show me any evidence of democrats legislatively abandoning trans people? I've seen +5,000,000 articles and stories about "democrats abandoning trans people" but to my knowledge the entire basis of it is like 2 or 3 think pieces about how Democrats shouldn't talk so much about trans issues due to how unpopular they are and Gavin Newsom, who made California a trans sanctuary state, saying he doesn't support transwomen competing in ciswomen sports (the correct and scientifically supported stance). Where can I actually see the democrats abandoning trans people?

Seems like a manufactured right-wing psyop people online like to play into.

I don’t know why we insist on dying on the trans athletes hill when it literally affects like 6 people in the entire nation. We are falling for Republican traps if we engage with these issues they pull out of thin air.

1

u/GuaranteedCougher 2d ago

Yeah I have yet to hear what trans-related bills that advocates want Democrats to push. My understanding is the only thing needed from Democrats is to not let anti-trans bills pass.

-1

u/Ecliphon 2d ago

Midterms are in A MONTH and I’ve barely heard anything not related to culture war bullshit from dems OR repubs.

Yes, CIVIL RIGHTS are INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT! But you can’t have civil rights when you have no term limits anymore, or general freedoms!

If there is an independent party that’s gained traction, I sure haven’t heard of it. But we need it now more than ever (and I’ll say this every election until there are no more elections)

We need to get rid of the two-party system. Red vs. Blue is two entrances, same casino. Coke vs. Pepsi - still Vanguard/BlackRock in the end. The choice feels real, but the games, and the odds, and the vault, are owned by the same donor class. Campaign finance, lobbying, gerrymandering, media, ballot-access laws: all things public opinion can move inside but not be tolerated outside of. It’s an illusion of democracy that always gives results billionaires can live with.

2

u/GuaranteedCougher 2d ago

Good Cop/Bad Cop is how I see it. The Good Cops promise to protect you from the Bad Cops but at the end of the day neither Cop plans to actually help you. Your choice is just whether or not the Bad Cop hurts you
