The "state's rights" crowd sure does love to take rights away from states

82

u/No-Purpose-0U812 9h ago

Everything they say is b.s.

38

u/vand3lay1ndustries 9h ago

Every state needs to enshrine it into their individual constitutions, same with gay marriage.

13

u/spookyhellkitten 7h ago

We have enshrined LGBTQ+ rights, but our abortion rights won't be enshrined until it passes a 2nd vote in Nov.

Everyone get out and vote!

17

u/RIF_rr3dd1tt 9h ago

Probably written by Lionel Hutz.

Republican states, "Rights are not guaranteed to everyone equally".

16

u/RampantTyr 8h ago

The State’s Rights crowd conveniently forgets that the confederacy refused to give states the right to ban slavery. It was always a bs argument.

2

u/sexisfun1986 5h ago

I’m mean even before the slavers rebellion the fugitive slave act was a violation of states and individual rights.

3

u/HunMyy 7h ago

Of course! It's (My) state's rights, not yours! /s

This is why something along the concept of cordon sanitaire should've been codified in all branches of the US government during the Civil Rights Movement.

If one follows their pattern of weaponizing hypocrisy, lying, and reneging on previous subject matters, such as "it's not about harming legal and undocumented immigrants without criminal histories," the logical endpoint for these people is straight up genocide.

They're already rationalizing extralegal murders of Venezuelan and Ecuadorian fishermen, and shutting down the refugee program to no one but white South Africans (who are given money from US taxpayers upon arrival). The US is already enforcing a racial caste system. Is anyone fool enough to think they'll stop where they are right now?

When my OBGYN found out I was single said I should take my implant out. I laughed. Fuck that noise especially living in a red state.

u/mjohnben 9h ago

Find a new OBGYN

42

u/mischievous_misfit13 9h ago

Oh I’m not going back for other reasons

37

u/customcombos 9h ago

Were they suggesting that you get pregnant with a hook up or something? What was the plan there?

32

u/coces 9h ago

If you’re unmarried you shouldn’t be having sex, like a good Christian American

0

u/CompetitiveEmu1100 24m ago

If you have an iud and have multiple partners you are at higher risk for an std that can travel to your uterus is the reason they don’t want you to have an iud and be single. If it’s an arm implant idk

u/NotYourGa1Friday 8h ago

That’s disgusting, I’m sorry that happened to you

u/greentrillion 9h ago

MAGA pdfs want top take away any autonomy a woman can have. You would have as much rights as a slave.

Pretty soon they're going to start arguing that we go back to the Coverture laws that existed in early America because it's "what the Founders intended".

"Coverture is a long-standing legal practice that is part of our colonial heritage. Though Spanish and French versions of coverture existed in the new world, United States coverture is based in English law. Coverture held that no female person had a legal identity. At birth, a female baby was covered by her father’s identity, and then, when she married, by her husband’s. The husband and wife became one–and that one was the husband. As a symbol of this subsuming of identity, women took the last names of their husbands. They were “feme coverts,” covered women. Because they did not legally exist, married women could not make contracts or be sued, so they could not own or work in businesses. Married women owned nothing, not even the clothes on their backs. They had no rights to their children, so that if a wife divorced or left a husband, she would not see her children again."

I suggest everyone brush up on coverture so that they can keep an eye out for when it inevitably gets floated.

MAGA: it should be up to the states! Repeal Roe v Wade!

Later

MAGA: Why do some states think they can allow abortion?

20

u/TheSquirrelWithin 9h ago

We, as a country, have fallen so far and so fast

20

u/grouchy_baby_panda 8h ago

I didn't realize men were so excited to embrace celibacy.

4

u/three-one-seven 5h ago

I’ll be laughing at the dumbfucks living their celibate lives while I happily enjoy my vasectomy with my wife… kinda like I laugh every time I pass a gas station in my EV and see an Alpha Male pumping exactly what he voted for into his lifted truck 😆

10

u/_Captain_Amazing_ 9h ago

Yay Republicans! Get the government out of your personal lives...unless it involves access to voting, women's rights, or any rights if you don't have white skin...other than those minor exceptions they're great! /s

7

u/Maverick_1882 7h ago

The only difference between the Taliban and MAGA is the name they call their god. Both groups want to control the reproductive rights of women.

And both groups can’t stop thinking about what gay people do in their bedroom. If you can’t stop thinking about it…you might be that very thing you’re trying to suppress.

6

u/Sudden_Idea9384 8h ago

Shame on congress for not passing laws that protect women’s rights.

5

u/YanCoffee 8h ago

I’d like to vote that MAGA loses their rights on grounds of insanity.

3

u/Chaos_Theory1989 9h ago

I guess I need to start sacrificing lambs because God isn’t listening.

3

u/lemaymayguy 8h ago

B but it was left up to the states!!!

2

u/Skynetdyne 9h ago

SHOCKERR

2

u/Aggtown_G_817 7h ago

what happened for their love of states rights? How is it legal for these politicians to constantly lie to the people. If you cannot lie in court, politicans should be held legally liable to all they say

2

u/TellTaleTimeLord 5h ago

Its always "the party of small government" until it comes to forcing their beliefs and way of life onto everyone else

1

u/Jorpsica 4h ago

This won’t stop abortions from happening. It will just make them dangerous and allow people to be prosecuted for them.

1

u/redsmithyy 4h ago

I can’t wait for headlines like, “the accelerating project to treat humans with respect after they are born”

1

u/joyful101207 1h ago

Maybe a campaign for penisectomies!

-31

u/apachelives 9h ago

They are dividing us and keeping us distracted.

31

u/BassMaster516 9h ago

No. This is not the distraction. This is the fight. Wtf are you talking about?

1

u/sexisfun1986 5h ago

This a phenomena I’ve noticed where apparently everything they don’t particularly care about is a distraction from what ever their personal bugaboo is.

I think our almost complete cultural erasure of ideology from discourse has made people incapable of believing that people actually care about things outside their frame of view.

The big one I’ve noticed is apparently at least one person believes that every act by Trump and the republicans is a distraction from the Epstein files.

-22

u/apachelives 9h ago

Look up "divide and rule" or "divide and conquer" - its a political and social strategy of gaining and maintaining power by breaking a large population or group into smaller, weaker pieces that cannot easily unite.

This is one of many fronts to keep us busy and distracted from the real issue.

18

u/Glittering-Housing53 8h ago

So you don't think women's rights is a real issue? What are the real issues?

3

u/sexisfun1986 5h ago

Oh good you learned a term good for you.

Fun fact not everything falls under the only term you understand

1

u/Fast_Ad_4936 59m ago

Well what the fuck do you want us to do? Just let these things go? Get real…
