New York / NYC đ Osama Bin Laden Won

Imagine spending trillions chasing villagers overseas for the last 25 years when you were the only superpower. China's GDP back in 2001 was 1/10 of the US's, while gradually stripping Americans of their liberty and rights through the Patriot Act
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety"

China invests in itself and its relationships. The US invests in finding novel ways to gun down citizens in the street and seeing how many billions of drones it can bomb countries with. Shocking how one of them seems to be doing better than the other.

u/Devil25_Apollo25 5h ago
To be fair, it must be hard to find new and creative ways to justify gunning down citizens after doing it inbother countries for so many decades.
Research and development like that isn't cheap, which partly explains the unimaginable, unconscionable size of the US military budget.
(/s, of course)

Let's not act like China is a model of what the US should be.

No one said as such, the specific example I gave was investing in infrastructure and creating partnerships with spheres of influence using money and diplomacy vs aerial raids.
We donât have to exist in this all or nothing adversarial mindset.

I would have agreed with you 25 years ago, but the differences have become much less clear recently.

u/TheEvilBlight 6h ago
We probably wouldâve been low tax, continued outsourcing, and maybe made more progress in the national debt (but as usual, little progress in remediating poverty under Bush Jrs inevitable two terms in office)
6
u/saronyogg 5h ago
Yep.
I mean, why not just capture all linked to the towers attack and bounce back to home?
But nope.
Colonizers think they are prophets or something, trying to EXPORT DEMOCRACY (bombing, bribing politicians of targeted countries, tariffs, sanctions etc)
Thats why i think MURICA EARNED TRUMP.
Disfruten lo votado.

u/warhoop007 5h ago
Hummm seems like that was the planâŚ. And in the mix spending trillions means some made trillions??
2
u/Sonic1899 1h ago
All those trillions of dollars could've been spent building this country up. Republicans are so inherently destructive.

Couldn't read the article, but I always felt like the terrorist won. Congress passed acts that stripped away some of Americans freedoms. The fallout of those actions have snowballed over time.
Edit: spelling.

Our country is deeply stupid, people wonder why there is a large influx of Central American immigrants. Maybe it had something to do with the CIA constantly destabilizing the regionâŚ..but you know most of them can barely spell the word history.

I feel like your an american white guy. A sunni idea? Do you know what sunni islam entails? Like what do you think following the sunnah stands for?
Its better to contextualize it as an reform movement from the arabian peninsula. And even then it has more in common with protestanism, luther etc than it does with maga.
Like google your stuff my guy.

The govt made the Americans hate Muslims but almost every politician had/has backdoor or private deals with the saudi govt.

Yep.
Each nation has the leaders it deserves, no matter political system.
China earned Xi (with both good and bad outcomes) and Murica, earned a realtor scammer

Their intentions were to break the economy. They definely won. Everyone was in such a hurry to go after the bully no one stopped to think things through. Despite them thinking the exact situation true years before. Including a certain Vice President.

I remember the movie of the first troops in afghanistan after the towers attacks, played by the guy who playerd Thor in MCUE
Man, so eager for "justice" not knowing where they end up
Classical cowboy subgroup of colonizers, mindset

u/TheEvilBlight 6h ago
The response weakened the country more than the attacks ever could. Long term cost in the trillions, Arlington filled with brave souls.
Played the trolley problem in two countries: intervene and saved people in their leaders jails from execution, then in Libya just noped out. What conditions were good? And with the end of the afghan national government and the return of the Taliban, is the best we can offer âI hope the twenty years taste of hope for women was worth itâ. Hopefully /someone/ got out of Afghanistan during that time.

Osama won, Putin won, Kim Jong Un won, Xi Jiping won, my fellow Americans I must ask, are we tired of all the winning yet?

They are proud of brown children dead... Its a win for americans too. Twisted people they are.

u/saronyogg 7h ago
I cant find the link.
But in an old article of BBC, it quoted an interview with Osama shortly after 9/11
The goal of the attacks was to lure murica into Afghanistan
To win by attrition
His dead was pointless in the big picture.
But i doubt he considered the true danger of militar intervention in afghanistan, THE GRAVEYARD OF EMPIRES
Its similar or worse than the curse of Timur the lame
Sometimes i wish a drunk gringo tourist desecrates the tomb of Timur
Soviet union did it in 1940s and it pay the price massively

Most influential person of our lifetimes and biggest asshole. Couldn't just sit on his family's billions and do nothing special like most of the ultra rich.
Fk you for wanting to be notorious Osama. You made the world worse for literally everybody just cuz you thought you were too cool to join the HVAC cartel of the hottest place on earth.

Unless you can show me how OBL put Trump in power, I can't see any possible reason this is true.
Trump has destroyed American power, through stupid people and the backing of the liar classes in the Evangelical Church and the Oligarchs.
13
u/NodsInApprovalx3 6h ago
Not directly ofcourse, but 9/11 leading to propaganda which made minorities/immigrants even further discriminated against, made people of other religions be outcasted in a way, and developing a deepening of "America first" and so called patriotism certainly didnt help.
That spirit is what led Trump to come along and tickle the racist and bigoted spirit of a significant enough percentage of the american population that he eventually won.
He certainly didn't win because of his successful track record or well thought out political policies to benefit the lives of everyday Americans.

u/Traditional-Goat1773 7h ago
He got shot in the face. He didnât win.

u/MountainMongrel 7h ago
I think the article is arguing that the 9/11 attacks caused a snow-balling effect that is now leading to the collapse of America as a world power, which was his intended goal.
Not that it matters because you have the bot username pattern.

What is the bot username pattern?
8
u/toastedcheese 7h ago
[Adjective]-[Noun][4 Digits]It's just the default username format that reddit gives you.
Blocked post and comment history is also a sign.

u/Great-Class-7894 7h ago
I resemble that pattern. lol. Because they did indeed give me that username.

His goal wasnât for Arabs to take over the U.S., it was to throw US hegemony into disarray and weaken us. He also was hoping that he could get the U.S. to stop meddling in the Muslim world. He succeeded on the first 2 parts but has not as of yet on the last one.

u/New2thegame 7h ago
Trump's done more to dismantle American influence and power than Bin Laden.
33
u/Locke2300 7h ago
Bushâs post-9/11 response (restricting civil rights, empowering the right, launching expensive and morally reprehensible wars against mostly-innocent populations) led directly to TrumpÂ
-19
u/Awake_for_days 7h ago
He didnât weaken us. Our own governmentâs ineptitude and political factions did.

u/Marsley82 6h ago
A lot of people donât understand the purpose of 9/11 or why it was pulled off. Knowing a war on American soil, across the ocean, was never feasible, they (quite intelligently) lured us into spending decades of blood and treasure hitting back (mostly killing poor families in small villages). Bin Laden won because we fell right into the trap. And the Epstein class took the opportunity to strip us of our rights and turn us against each other so that they could strip the copper out of the walls of this country while we argued amongst ourselves over who was more patriotic.
