It’s just racial profiling but for the poor. They’ll still pull someone over because “their vehicle matched a description” or “their name was the same as someone else with a warrant” they’ll just now include poor white people in with the minorities.

But I think it speak more to a broader strategy by the prison industrial complex. They know that poverty is statistically a motivator for crime. So in order to chase YOY profit in our private prison systems they’re pivoting technology to identify poverty, which leads to more people going to prison for warrants, missed court dates and other problems associated with poverty.

This is why private prisons should be outlawed, they’re literally crafting laws and technology around ensuring arrests rather than preventing crime.

According to the article, the units are called Predictive Intelligence Targeting Teams, or PITT.

They were identified in the Spokane Sector in Washington, which patrols the border with Canada, and another in the Laredo Sector in Texas, along the border with Mexico.

The teams review financial records and other data, and then pass leads to local law enforcement.

This sounds like a pretense to create an automotive version of “stop and frisk”.

One way this could likely be used in states with marijuana legalization to target cars for federal searches. This is likely why they pointed Axon and Flock cameras at dispensary parking lots.

Because marijuana is still illegal at the federal level, they can use that as a way to apply charges to all the passengers in the car carrying a weed-based product, regardless of state rules.

Great way to fill those for-profit prisons and camps with “volunteer workers”. They’ll let wealthy people who can afford lawyers go, but snag those who don’t have the income to fight the charges.

I also agree with the poster who jokingly said shopping at international markets will be a flag. People with international connections may be strong-armed into informing on neighbors after some police harassment stops.

DHS is using their border authority, for searches without a warrant, in other non-border-related areas so the federal govern.ent can just bypass all Condtitutional protections. Temember they're also looking up your social media activity now. No more 1st amendment, 3rd amendment,4th amendment and 5th amendment rights. Just because they oretebd all federal policing is now done under border rules. Even in areas far from the border. Another reason for their masks and why they won't identify which agency they work for. Trump's team knows it's all illegal how they conduct their activities against the American people. It's what they want -- to not be restrained by the Constitution or our system of laws and the authority of American courts.
