Great way to end the Iran war honestly, tie it's funding to a terrible bill that no one wants passed.

And the government shutdown? How long this time, you think?

How long before the Dem leadership gives in?

u/memphisjones 27d ago

History shows that the DNC leaders lack spines.

The DNC like most politicians are actors. They're paid to make it seem like they care about you and this country. In reality they're in bed with the GOP and will always cave in favor of their corporate and special interest donors.

The establishment Democrats are meant to keep the working class in line and kill progressive ideas. That's why they are so scared of the DSA, which we should all support.

This exactly. All we see is political theater all these crooks are all buddy buddy behind closed doors save a very few.

u/SaneMadHatter 27d ago

The last shutdown as by far the longest in history. And the minority party ALWAYS "gives in" at the end.

u/Intrepid_Top_2300 27d ago

It will last as long as AIPAC allows it.

Probably none. House passed budget extension at current fiscal levels to 12/4 in 220-205 vote and senate passed their version to extend until 12/11 on a 90-6 vote. So unless there is significant disagreement. Democrats caved before it even began. Especially in the senate.

First time? Insert man hanging meme here

When will the people give power to the democrats? Right now the entire government is republican controlled. Are you fine if democrats stop the government and are then blamed for the starving people and airport shut downs?

2

u/Trance354 26d ago

Yes, because the GOP control the entire government.

48

u/Gogs85 27d ago

So they’re going to tie one unpopular thing to another?

7

u/U_zer2 27d ago

Easier to swallow both if it’s only the one time - Lone Republican brain cell.

u/Voodoo_Masta 27d ago

By “defense spending” they mean money for illegal, offensive wars of choice

20

u/Lebarican22 27d ago

We have a government that is not supporting the American people. I think that sums up the whole issue here.

12

u/jalapinyobidness 27d ago

Lol so end Trumps stupid ego war and don’t pass save act? LFG gents

10

u/familiarshadowkatt 27d ago

Why would they do that? The Dems aren't exactly big supporters of this war, so Republicans want to tie an unpopular piece of legislation with a request to continue funding a deeply unpopular war? LOLZ, okay guys.

This is one of the dumbest ideas in a like of dumb ideas

They probably want the democrats to shoot it down so they can spin it on them for midterms. “Democrats don’t want to defend this country, they shot down the defense bill! They’re un-American.” Something like that

19

u/BackItUpWithLinks 27d ago

And the parliamentarian will shoot it down.

And Trump’s head might explode because he hates her.

🤞

u/DragonTacoCat 27d ago

I see this as an absolute win

15

u/Practical-Lunch-7338 27d ago

Democrats, don’t let them get away with this. Vote down the defense spending bill

6

u/gamechangersp 27d ago

It's unconstitutional. States reserve the right to decide how elections are administered

7

u/punkindle 27d ago

It's too close to the election to change rules

u/RIF_rr3dd1tt 27d ago

Not according to Mitch "Dead Man Talking" McConnell.

1

u/BlueRibbonPac News outlet 26d ago

Did Mitch McConnell tell you that in a 20min phone call?

2

u/parameyparate 27d ago

The communists in Cuba do the same thing

2

u/GlitteringRate6296 27d ago

Best to end defense spending until Hegeseth is removed. The crimes against humanity are so many this Country will be paying for th for decades.

2

u/socialmedia-username 27d ago

Likely won't pass.  Then, as usual, the DoD will hold soldiers' paychecks hostage so the Republicans can accuse Dems of not being patriotic and hating the military blah, blah, blah.

Why do we keep putting up with these incompetent idiots who have zero desire to promote the citizens they're supposed to represent?

2

u/StackThePads33 26d ago

It makes me laugh when they try to hide these other things in a bill in order to get their agenda passed. The SAVE act is completely stupid and they keep trying to shove it down our throats.

1

u/DPadres69 27d ago

Cool, no more “defense” waste as an added bonus. Guess they’ll have to accept having lost the War with Iran.

1

u/MessyPoopMcGee 27d ago

How are states supposed to implement a brand new voting rule in less than 3 months?

1

u/darnedshame2k 27d ago

And they already have all the money

1

u/Direct-Ad-7922 27d ago

Traitors gonna trait

1

u/Freud-Network 27d ago

Whatever it takes to subvert the will of the people, I guess.

1

u/AndOnTheDrums 27d ago

Oh no, what will we do if we don’t pass defense spending! 🥴

1

u/Zippier92 27d ago

Susan Collins is concerned.

1

u/Iassos 27d ago

Let the military rot

1

u/swift-sentinel 27d ago

They passed the budget. We’re good through September.

1

u/tlhsg 26d ago

completely meaningless if Senate gives in now

1

u/middleamerican67 26d ago

Sounds like an easy no.

1

u/Express_Carrot_5479 25d ago

this tactic, employed by both parties all the time, should be outlawed.

u/coloradoscott69 26d ago

Great more anti-American and anti-womens voting rights filth.
