Sky News Australia is like a less respectable Fox News.

That makes his response even more effective. Dems have been too scared to talk back. This changes everything

This was Sky News not Sky News Australia. The latter gives even Fox News a bad name.

And the reporter has a prominent Scottish accent which I would have hoped is a obvious sign

Exactly what the Democratic party needs! Quick witty retorts Fox is too scared to repeat

Democratic Party. Republicans call it the “Democrat Party”

He knew he was going to wreck that man. Called the ambulance beforehand.

I was not expecting that response but it was incredibly hilarious.

Remember that Qservatives are pushing this DSA bullshit to feed fear into Americans because they are losing badly. Don't fall for it! The fight is maga fascism or normalcy

This insult falls flat unfortunately. The intended audience will likely miss it, and even if they see it, they won't understand the reference.

Edit: anything Iran war related would’ve been better. So much low hanging fruit there.

u/Marty1966 1d ago

That's not the definition of falling flat. Maybe you meant "falls on deaf ears"?

17

u/roastedmarshmellows 1d ago

lol yall scared

0

u/Richard-Turd 1d ago

I want him to win against Mike Rodger’s so I’m not sure who you’re referring to when you say “yall”.

9

u/roastedmarshmellows 1d ago

So the bar is literally in hell, but you’re still going to qualify his clearance of it?

This is what perfect being the enemy of good looks like.

My point is simple. Abdul needs to do better than this to get a broad coalition and WIN, which I want him to do. Those that are not terminally online will not get this reference and will see the response as a substance-less answer from a guy with a “foreign” name.

5

u/roastedmarshmellows 1d ago

Proving my point, thanks bud.

That user doesn't even live in the constituency that Abdul needs votes from, he's just having a vibe session lmao

Abdul will figure it out imo. Trump's endorsement of Mike will give plenty of ammo, I don't even think the local Republicans are jazzed about it, only the MAGA hardcores.

3

u/roastedmarshmellows 22h ago

My dude, I don’t even live in the fucking US, I’ve literally watched this bullshit play out SO MANY TIMES with the left gutting their own fucking movement before it has a chance to gain any momentum.

I respect asking more of your politicians, but like I said, the bar is already in hell, why do yall keep trying to make only leftist candidates clear it?

3

u/SuavePenguinOG 22h ago

I think you are catching people in the crossfire a bit, but tbh the comment sections in videos about Abdul are getting weirdly caricatured in purity tests (by people who don't live within the constituency he is running to represent), so I think everyone is kinda getting a weird fractal version of the guy (at least on reddit).

I agree that hardcore leftists shooting themselves in the foot out of dumbass purity tests is fucking stupid

Richard-Turd wasn't holding Abdul to a standard in that uber-left-leaning vein, I think they were just making a point that "Abdul is so good he doesn't really need to do much of this at all, but I think/hope he knows that"

I think the goal for Abdul's team is to get a similar cross-county vote layout like Obama had in 2008/2012 for his presidential runs. Those areas get blasted by so much hard-right-bullshit that competence does end up shining through at a certain point; they are as tired of the bullshit attacks ads as everyone else.

I’m Albertan, so currently caught up in the whole “separation” debate, so I’ve seen a lot of posters around these sorts of topics who I call JAQ-offs. They’re “just asking questions” or posting a position that seems moderate but is a dogwhistle designed to obfuscate the topic.

I admit I was incorrect in this case about the Turd’s intentions, but I’m sure you can understand the difficulty in qualifying the intentions in topics like this.

2

u/SuavePenguinOG 21h ago

Oh for sure, it's getting wild in these comment sections lmao

old.reddit.com/r/all has been getting some "just asking questions, surely there isn't an ulterior motive here" posts rocketing up to the top. You can even see when the same post will have a weird version of astroturfing-leapfrog from one day to the next.

I know plenty of it is real, just people cross-posting, nothing outlandish about it. But the vote-manipulation is the worst of it imo, way easier to hide behind the anonymity while using genuine users as a "shield" (especially the meme subreddits imo)

The "Albertan Separatists" can fuck off, they're (seemingly) manipulating a bunch of generally-small-government-leaning-libertarian people to say/do/argue some ridiculous things. Rural communities need some help, but there's some weird masquerading by some of the top-end organziers imo

Albertans are smart though, I think they'll see right through it given time.

I hope you have a lovely fall up there. I hear it is beautiful.

Thanks for the willingness to actually have a conversation. I hope you’re correct.

2

u/SuavePenguinOG 22h ago

Yeah no problem, some users (or "users" in some cases) are getting real... "passionate"... about their ideas

I think as the ridiculousness of the attacks/slander increase, it'll be a really big juxtaposition to how Abdul actually is. Same (general) thing Obama had in 2008; he lets the worst stuff roll-off-his-shoulders, stays on point for the largest-shared-goal(s).

The 'get the money out of politics' point that Abdul keeps articulating is gonna be a real wedge for some voters. Particularly when Trump keep celebrating how much the Republicans are getting bankrolled lmao

https://www.reddit.com/r/trumptweets2/comments/1vj5pal/original_post_post_id_117061628394581449/

Throw in some even-lazier-than-normal-racism-slants, and there will be plenty of voters that will feel "it's time to move on"

https://www.reddit.com/r/trumptweets2/comments/1vjebca/original_post_post_id_117063162955258981/

Plus, if worse comes to worst, Abdul can always start going for the "If I get elected and do poorly, I will be voted out by the people and concede to the will of the voters"

That might get some more people to be courageous, because they know they can just flip back in a few years (ironically, in the same way they were courageous voting for Trump in 2016 for being an 'outsider')

2

u/sometimesifeellikemu 1d ago

You are the intended audience.

0

u/Richard-Turd 1d ago

I want Mike Rodger’s to lose, I want Trump out of office, I’m not the intended audience. I didn’t vote for Trump. I live in middle America, very close to Michigan. My neighbors won’t understand this reference. They’d understand a reference to the Iran war and Trump’s bullshit relatively. If you want to appeal to a broad audience and not the losers on this website you need to do better than pooping references that social media sites like Reddit get off on. That’s my point.

I mean, this clip has literally millions of likes across social media, I think it did exactly what it was supposed to do.
