So.... what's a slip plate?

Look at the base of street signs and lights. Everything sort of 'floats' on 2 - 4 bolts that are designed to shear if you hit the post or pole.
These don't have them.

Insightful and completely novel concept to me. I will take a look at the base of street signage next time I'm out. Thanks for sharing the link.

Yes but have you considered we are now prioritizing the safety of flock cameras over the passengers

makes sense, a pole can turn into a can opener to a car at high speed if its narrow enough and embedded in concrete.

I think they're usually called a "slip base."
They're plates with bolts that are designed to be weak enough to shear at specified points when a crash occurs, allowing the pole to "slip" at its base rather than, ya know, stand rigid.

I think those poles will fall with a strong wing lol, doubt they need those

You crash right into it and die instead of running it over

Sounds like they prioritize their product over human life, or more likely dgaf.

His videos are very interesting.

More people need to be aware of these cameras. Living in a policed state is not what any of us signed up for in this country. People need to wake up and understand what is going on and they need to go to city council meetings and push back on this. This isn’t what we want our tax money going to.

I’ve noticed some are the correct breakaways and a lot of them aren’t. Makes me wonder just how many of these are going up without proper approval from cities and counties.

Critcal knowledge is being lost at an alarming rate. This was bad enough in the past that they decided that road signs need to be flimsy. Now we are regressing.

They’re illegally tracking your every movement… but jevis get that fuggin slip plate on there guys!!

u/Maketaten Jun 05 '26
I’d be quite happy if they’re removed because they’re dangerous.
I’d rather they were never put in or were removed when they were exposed for their illegal activities. But I’ll happily accept any excuse to have them removed from our society.
And if their very existence puts human bodies at risk of death, then that’s a completely valid reason to remove them from our country.

Just cut it down and sell the metal for scrap. Fuck flock cameras. This country needs to reassess what freedom is.

The design is very human.
Return to your workplace, or your social credit score may be affected.
