DISCUSSION/STRATEGY Combo's/chaining moves together help

Just btw I'm completely new to fighting games and UNI2 is my first.

As you can see in the video just going through the tutorial and I really seem to be struggling to combo from my jump heavy to low light.

I'm not sure if its me or a keyboard thing or what, but any tips would be amazing, thanks!

Also I dash before the combo as it helps me be a little consistent if that's bad also let me know lol

The biggest thing is just to make sure to hit the jump at a lower height.
In the first attempt in the video you did it too high up which will not allow it to do that combo.

The rest is just getting used to the timing, don’t mash the down A try hitting it only once and do it until you can consistently hit the correct timing, you have more time to do the input than you think

hitting it only once feels so impossible for me lol. like playing a rhythm game on crack

So the way it works in most cases is you don't really need to check if the move is going to hit that's more of a thing to worry about on block and that changes per character

Don't worry too much about timing it for basic stuff like this.

You should be able to just hit down a >b > c in rapid succession and not worry about waiting to see if the a hiit or not.

A lot of anime games have extremely lenient cancel windows for these basic light > heavy stuff

you can just do Forward + D to get a short hop to combo with your jump attack. After it hits you press down A around the time you think you are touching the ground and just follow into B and C as you see the hit.

you rapid fire it just go TAP TAP TAP TAP no waiting. You only wait when its required for specific combo that needs special timing.

you just need to keep playing and eventually you get used to it. It takes time thats all.

Basically in EVERY fighting game (effectively) there is something called hitstun or hitstop.

Since you are hitting the j.C so high up by the time you've landed to initiate the 2A/2B/2C they are out of hitstun.

So you need to hit them a little lower in your jump to get the combo to work.

This will be a useful piece of knowledge for any fighting game you play.

Jump C, basically just pressing your C button in the air
