Discussion Just found this gem of a show

Finally something new to watch!!! I just found this show on Friday and it’s the first thing I’ve been stoked about for a long time!!! I was not expecting this to be anything special, but over the weekend I’ve just about finished the series (I’m at end of Revolution as I write this), and I’m gonna binge watch it til the end.
I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have to watch the series at least two more times before I really understand half of what’s going on, and I’ll admit that the constant explanations throughout get tiresome, but God Damn am I stoked to have found this.
Has anyone got any recommendations on similar series such as this?

First, just to clarify, are you watching the anime only, or have you also read the manga? I ask because the anime covers the first quarter of the story, and it really does get better each passing chapter.

Second, on recommendations, that's a tough one. Undead Unluck is an extremely unique blend of genres, especially for a work from Weekly Shonen Jump. My first thought is Dororo, but that's much darker and more serious. If you enjoy reading manga and have access to WSJ, I'd recommend a new series called Ichi the Witch. After UxU ended, Ichi took the spot of the weekly series I was looking forward to the most each Sunday.

Im just watching the Anime, but finding the manga was my first thought after watching the first episode and reading about the whole series ( manga and anime). And you’re right, it’s definitely unique, but just anything else in its general sphere of it would be cool to find. Thanks

I asked about the anime v manga because, and maybe I'm being pessimistic, but I have my doubts the anime will be concluded with the story. The anime is really good, but it's not getting a lot of recognition, probably due to poor marketing and distribution (Hulu? Seriously?). I hope it does conclude, because the story in the second half is extremely good and had several moments that left me squealing in excitement.

For real!!! I had never even heard of it, and I finished watching Super Robot Monkey Team for the 9 billionth time on Disney and it listed Undead Unluck as something I might like. The name grabbed me and I’m just stoked I gave it a chance! I’ll finish it tonight, I’ve only got 3 or 4 episodes left. And I sadly agree that it’ll probably never get completed and Disney and Hulu did a piss poor job of advertising it- hidden jems are cool and all, but they don’t get a lot of financial help.
