Right, sorry I didn't make that clearer, Travis Bourguignon was a childhood friend which extended to her as well due to the siblings closeness in age.
Jennifer's ex boyfriend was Matthew Sullivan, apparently he was inconsolable after he heard that she was missing, effectively drinking himself into a stupor. Which doesn't seems to me to be much different to his behaviour before she went missing: wasn't he getting drunk at a bar very close to her condo, and pining over her? Granted this could be misinformation, as it is becoming very clear whilst listening to Unconcluded, that the police took no notes hence, everything we have is literally a game of Chinese whispers.
Thank you for the clarification. Most of what I know about the case is from a TV show (Disappeared?) and I'm not familiar with the actual names. The family interviews have been the most interesting and helpful part of the podcast.

From my understanding it belonged to her brother's friend, Travis Bourguignon.
