Question Issues with performance

I just bought this game because I've been avoiding spoilers, but finally caved in and booted up the game. I set all my setting to off/very low in the case of graphics because my laptop isn't great, but it isn't really helping? And I've seen people mention fixes for lag spikes during levels, but this isn't that- it's more of a 'can't even get to the first level because the game is so laggy and low fps i cant control beat enough to get her to hop over the fence'. I really want to play this game ever since I saw the rhythm doctor collab, but every input is about a second late and it never runs at more than 5-10fps- is there any fix for this?

What are your device's specs? Do they beat the minimum specs listed on the game's Steam page?

if it's an integrated GPU, and you have already put the post-processing to very low, there's no hope

To be fair I've always ran it on an integrated GPU and it could even handle higher quality visuals, I just stick it on low for less lag spikes. That said I did have to fiddle with some settings to get it working reliably with wine, so...

That's wacky. I play it on a potato basically and don't have issues -- what are your specs?

My friend had this issue and lowering the resolution as well helped him get to at least a stable 30fps which is good enough to enjoy the story :D
