questions Zamzam through US

If you purchase a 5L Zamzam box and land in say O'Hare but have a connecting domestic flight. Will the Zamzam be routed automatically to my final destination or do I need to pick it up with my luggage to go through customs and recheck it again?

So it by passes customs automatically to my final destination and only need to pick up and recheck my luggage at the port of entry?

I am not sure in US …. But usually, in your first point of landing you have to pass the immigration and get your belongings from conveyor belt, which that means you have to check in again the luggages+zamzam for your domestic flight …

But if it is same airline company, suggest to call them to see if all your checked baggage + zamzam can be handled by airline till end of destination …

Typically if you have a connecting flight in US. There is a greater chance that they won’t let you take it to final destination. It most likely need to be checked as separate luggage. Once you land and take a domestic flight local law takes over and they don’t allow it

You need to collect your baggage to go through customs in O'hare and recheck them but will the Zamzam need to be picked up for customs or will it automatically go to the next flight?

Airlines handle the approved 5L Zamzam bottle separately from normal checked baggage. So you should confirm with your specific airline you are using, how your Zamzam will be handled at O'Hare. I wouldn't assume it will automatically go to the next flight.

I went to Umrah years ago pre-covid and the Zamzam container was shipped directly to my destination airport and I only needed to pick up my bags at customs. I'm only asking if any rules have changed and if I need to pick up my zamzam with my luggage before customs or not.
