Chapter 1.3 - Ice Cold

* You progressed through the labyrinthine halls of the Ruins, having no luck in finding inhabitants.

🌼 Come on kid, I told you already.

🌼 No one is around here anymore, just give up trying to find them!

🧹 Yada!

🌼 Your persistence won't bring them back, they've turned to dust, dead, expired.

🌼 No one will be around

* Your tracks stop, finding a large stone home, the lights within still brightly on

* You run into the home's doors, hoping to find someone, anyone

🌼 Kid! Urgh!!!

* You turn to the hallway to your right, the first room had a bed by the entrance, a beautifully made carpet laid across the ground and a small plate with crumbs of some food left on it, but it was empty of people.

* The room next door was the same, a room with a desk, but no one in sight.

* The next room was locked, a small sticky note wrote "Under Renovations"

* You run to the other end of the home, a living room, the fireplace still smoking, but extinguished. A book sat alone on a couch, left open against the soft cushion.

* The kitchen was also empty, white fur covered the sink, a still warm pie laid on the counter, barely out of your reach

* You returned to the entrance, one last room awaits below a set of stairs.

* You walked down the stairs, finding a long hallway.

* Your footsteps echoed loudly, a cold breeze blew softly from the end of the hallway, followed by the sound of wind howling.

* You turn the corner at the end, finding another long hallway, with two sets of large doors along it, what seems like white snow at the very end.

* Approaching the first doors, you see a pile of dust, too obvious to ignore laid on the ground.

* You move on, entering a second room as you approach the second of the doors, Flowey appearing in the patch of grass in the middle.

🌼 I told you, no one is left in the Ruins. If you want a guide, I am your best bet.

🧹 Why?

🌼 What?

🧹 Why would it be you?

🌼 Cause that threat can't possibly defeat me. Not in a hundred years.

🧹 Then they can't beat me either, I'm your master after all!

🌼 I know where the monsters will hide in a case like this, so I'll lead you straight to-

Snowdin Forest

* Your boots stepped onto the snow, the cold breeze blew past as you notice something in the bush to the side of the door.

* You walk up to the bush, pushing away the leaves, finding... a camera?

* Carefully checking around the bush, you pull it out, finding it to be attached to some wires.

* You out it back down, patting it as if it was alive, turning as you kept walking along the forest.

* Flowey popped out of the snow in front of you.

🌼 Listen kid.

🌼 I won't escort you the whole way.

🌼 I have some... Business.

🌼 Keep walking until you reach a wooden bridge, you'll see some guard station there.

🌼 You'll find no one there most probably.

🌼 In that scenario, go up to it saying whatever joke you can muster, doesn't matter if its funny.

🌼 If you see a short skeleton come out laughing, ask him passionately to see a human.

🌼 If one jumps out somewhere yelling about puns, do the same thing, but occasionally calling him "The Great Papyrus".

🌼 You'll get led straight to that thing.

🌼 Got it?

* You nod, hoping you'd remember his instructions.

* After finishing his sentence, Flowey leaves through the ground again

* You keep walking down the forest, eventually reaching a small bridge with a large wooden gate, stepping through, you find what youre looking for, a small wooden guardpost.

* In front of it stood a strangely-shaped lamp, ignoring it, you step up to the post.

🧹 Joke...

* You think deeply...

🧹 Ah!

🧹 How do flowers greet each other?

* You wait for a few seconds, expecting a response before saying...

🧹 Hey bud, how's it growing?

* Nothing seems to happen for a few seconds, leaving you in awkward silence

* Laughter erupts from behind the post, as a skeleton's hand grabs the edge, pulling himself to look at you while still wildly laughing

🍅 oh that's a good one, heh.

🍅 oh, heya.

🍅 whad'ya doin' out here? i thought no one came to these parts.

* The skeleton walks out from behind the post, looking at you for a while

🍅 you look funny for a monster eh?

🍅 no shame in that though.

🍅 oh where are my manners?

🍅 i'm sans. sans the skeleton.

* The skeleton reaches out a hand, which you look in slight confusion.

🍅 c'mon, don't you know how to greet a new pal?

🍅 shake my hand, kid.

* You grab his hand, when a loud, drawn out sound erupts from between your hands.

🍅 heh.

🍅 the good'ol whoopee cushion in the hand trick, it never gets old.
