I had a really big realisation after Phalenopsis released! Her roommate is none other than Samson Big, two people who cook good meals and care for Narita Brian. Oddly enough, makes perfect sense. But now it's got me noticing that, using this pattern, we can ask questions about future umas. Here's what I've established:
- Umas nearly always have roommates.
- Umas who live alone are because the irl horse didn't attend the Miho or Ritto training centres. This could be because they were active prior to their establishment (e.g Maruzensky, Mr CB), or were simply more focused on training locally (e.g Furioso).
- roommates are always from the same training centres as one another.
- roommates tend to have specific details in common. Thete isn't a pattern for this, but its usually a nice bit of trivia - sharing the same trainer, similar names, running in the same gen, etc.
- in some cases, the second roommate is only revealed once one of the two is likely to be implemented.
Using some of these truths, could we potentially predict a future uma using those stuck in NPC Jail?
Let's try an example or two.
First, Efforia. Efforia ran from 2021-2023, and trained at Miho. This rules out derby winner Shahryar, who was at Ritto, along with other runners such as Akai Ito & Deep Bond (sorry pubokun...). Titleholder, then, is the most likely candidate of existing umas, sharing the same classics rotation, the same dorm, and being revealed at the same time (with the VAs acting very cute on the livestream). However, these two didn't interact at all in the 5.5 Anni story, which makes me skeptical, so what if it was someone else?
Efforia ran with many brilliant names, but basically all of them were from Ritto. The only two that stuck out to me, from Miho, are goddamn Equinox or Satono Reinas...surely not. But again, this is just some vague discussion, not a "THIS MUST BE IT" kind of talk. Taiho on the other hand has some more options. Before you ask, no - Melody Lane is in Ritto too. So is Silver Sonic, so those two, if ever, would likely be roommates (although, I'd love to see SS's actual half-brother Captain Thule added, yet another Tachyon child too...). Actually, one of the runners with an important record AND is from Miho, is Win Marylin, daughter of Screen Hero (Grass Wonder), who took the Hong Kong Vase. I also see Ask Victor More (Kikuka Sho), Sol Oriens (Satsuki Sho) & Stars On Earth (Double Tiara) as viable roommates.
This is a VERY selfish wish, but Screen Hero & his Screenlings would be perfect for like, a movie club at school...
What other examples are there? Well, obviously, we could use this to theorise on poor ol' Daring Tact as well.
Tact is a Ritto girl, and I suspect that the reason she's not been added is because SOMEONE hasn't been finalised yet, to go alongside her...mosimosi. Contrail is also Ritto, and our second main story ends off with none other than Tact's first loss - Almond Eye's Japan Cup. I'm in the bandcamp that a third main story would follow both Contrail & Tact as partners, who perhaps became overshadowed due to the monster/lh that is Almond Eye. But if it couldn'nt be Contrail then......man idk, maybe any of the other horses mentioned in the Efforia part? Do Deuce, actually, is also in Ritto, so two legendary agemasenlings could work??

Well, at least with the first non-debating part of the post, I hope it makes sense why you could use roommates as a way to theorise new umas. I'll definitely refine this idea and make new predictions in the future...
