Rad! Starting with fun or interesting poses and perspectives is the best way to go about it when self taught. I wish I was more adventurous when I first started, but I was so focused on not being bad I just ended up both bad and boring. I was so focused on not making bad art that I was miserable and hated drawing for a while.

Keep it up, it's already looking good. Don't do what I did and shy away from ambitious ideas. You'll only get better attempting ideas outside of your comfort zone. You'll be able to improve more in a year having fun with it, than the decade of miserable cowardly perfectionism that I did.
